All we need to do is still be in the lead come signing day. I am confident we are still in the lead. Dante seems like a stand up dude. He has given every indication he is Irish, so I believe him. If I was a top recruit, loved the Irish, and intended to sign with them, I would take and enjoy all these visits also. You only get to experience it once. Enjoy yourself, Dante. You've earned it. See you in the blue and gold on signing day. Will be proud to have you and yours as part of the Irish family.

Oh please. It's the biggest decision of the kid's life. He should, actually, take the time to make the right decision for himself. He doesn't owe Notre Dame - or anyone - an early commit just so our coaches can go and sell him to some wide receivers we also hope to recruit.

That said, Notre Dame's coaches should ensure they have a quarterback in this class. So if Dante intends to push this past, say, mid-June, they should probably be talking to other players at the position. That may have the effect of clarifying the decision for all involved.

He could still sign, but I never liked the idea of putting all our eggs in one kid's basket. If good WRs are hanging on a QB commitment I don't know if we can wait till after the season. Don't blame the kid for doing his due diligence, but we've got to do ours too and not get left at the alter.

Exactly, step it up with Vizina (i know he just committed but that doesn’t mean anything) and who ever else may have interest and is good.

Yeah. It's not the best position to be in, but you've burned too many other bridges to show Moore how badly you want him to be THE guy.

If you get caught looking like fools and he spurns you, you turn to '24, and [hopefully having learned an important lesson], tell Carr and Sayin that there's one spot between them, press for both of them, and see who takes it first. No more playing favorites and eliminating other prospects on the board to show one guy how special he is.

It sounds like he wants to stick to his plan of committing before the season, but he and his parents have discussed the idea of waiting and seeing how the new coaches and their teams perform, instead.

Sounds like a "if I still can't decide, I'll let the season help me decide."

No way you want to get caught with your pants down after spurning all other offers for one 16 year old, especially when it comes to QBs. You're better off with a steady 4 star than nothing at all and most schools would be grateful for that.

Look at how QB recruiting goes these days. At most schools with decent talent stocked, if you're a 4+ star talent and projected to ride the bench there's a good chance you're transferring somewhere else to finish your career (whether you start there or not). Recently about every other QB or every third we've brought in has left. If you fail to recruit any QB in a particular class you're in a pretty tough spot when you're (And many other schools) losing more talent via transfer.
