neither Cass or MLK would have students fitting the ND profile though
Yeah, I'd agree with this, Moore seems to be an exception. I know we've pursued a few guys from Cass Tech over the years, and we got Kalon Gervin (4* CB) to commit back in 2017 before he eventually decommitted and enrolled at MSU.

We haven't had much luck in the Detroit area period, with a few exceptions like Kareem and Daelin Hayes.

theres way too many Bagmen/Uncle/Mentor types and not to mention Coaches who can be bought with analyst/assistant coach gigs in the Detroit PSL for ND to ever make any traction and that's on top of the academic non fits there. I've said it from day one recruiting Moore is like recruiting a kid from Miami or New Orleans...just not a ND fit for so many reasons

From reading ISD's content, and content from other sources, it seems like the Moore family is a true outlier in terms of eliminating outside influences.

They've been both pretty detailed but still discrete about how they're handling the recruitment. They're treating it like a true business decision, it seems, rather than letting the schools turn it into a popularity contest or "bidding" war.

Once again, this all sounds like the recruiting challenge that Marcus Freeman is fully aware of and happy to accept.

For all the dialogue this fan base loves to spew at every turn about it being a special place, this, that and the other....you can't leave any stone unturned when looking for fits. Some guys might not be 100% fits now but that's not the point. Notre Dame turns boys to men. When the program has been most successful, it has taken the guys like Rice/Zorich/Hughes and made them into Notre Dame fits that best exemplify what the door opening can truly look like.

So Dante Moore doesn't come from a place where ND would normally tread. He doesn't look like the typical Notre Dame student. Enter the Freeman Era.

Up to #8 Overall in the updated 247 rankings. I think we are understating what an outstanding prospect he is in this thread. Truly the type of kid we need to take the next step.

Chris (ISD) - Aware of Dante's interest in getting out and seeing other places around the country. If he follows through on that it may tell you where ND stands.

Again, not to play the semantics game too much here, but I think Christian was trying to hint more that if he does NOT go through with this swing of schools it would be telling of where ND stands.

To me this reads that if he doesn't go (+what other reporters are suggesting) then Dante is pretty much in the bag. If he does go on the trip, we'll have to wait and see.

Freeman at ISD seems to expect a spring time decision from Dante though.

I think that's an optimistic interpretation but I can see what you're saying, hopefully that's what he meant. ISD is indicating ND is really pushing here.

Out of no where, I got that stinky MeatChicken vibe. Like.. Im coming, no worries, 110% committed then flips faster then flap jack on a skillet I think we get screwed here and Tommy boy loses his seat

New rule should be if MICH is in for a kid committed to us, and there is any smoke, just let them go and find a replacment. MICH should from now on be a deal breaker.

ISD's updates on Dante have all emphasized how he's looking at depth charts so I wouldn't think following a 5-star QB to LSU would be attractive.

Has there been any indication that Michigan is even a real player for Moore? I feel like everything we’ve heard had MSU ahead if he was staying home.

I can appreciate this sentiment after the McGregor and Walker recruitments, but we can't give the skunkbears that much power over our recruiting.

I think I saw a twitter user show that we ended up getting more recruits that Michigan offered than Michigan got recruits that we offered. Not to mention the obvious case of Josh Burnham who everyone figured was Michigan bound.

Moore can be rather confident Freeman will be HC his entire time at ND. Maybe not Rees but Freeman. He can’t be confident Harbaugh or Weiss will be at Michigan. That I think will/is a large factor. It’d be nice to be the benefactor of coach flirtation for once

Goes on to say he has a 7-8 CB in on him. (silent CB of course)
Phew… I was worried that this silent (and totally not clickbait) CB that he invented was only going to be like a level 5 confidence. Now it feels like an absolute lock that we may or may not get Moore to commit at some point and for some period of time.
