Out of no where, I got that stinky MeatChicken vibe. Like.. Im coming, no worries, 110% committed then flips faster then flap jack on a skillet I think we get screwed here and Tommy boy loses his seat

New rule should be if MICH is in for a kid committed to us, and there is any smoke, just let them go and find a replacment. MICH should from now on be a deal breaker.
This may be the most defeatist post I've ever read on this site. Take an ice bath and regroup.

We play football less than three hours from scUM. We are going to be in on a lot of recruits against these guys. When we go to MI for a recruit, especially metro-Detroit,, there are going to be a lot of influencers for these talented teenagers working against ND. You'll have coaches, teammates, family members, friends, and peers who grew up cheering for, and may even be alumni of, Sparty or the Wolverines who will be pulling you in all sort of directions. So it's understandable that we may lose out on 9/10 of these kids.

However, look to Khalid Kareem, Daelin Hayes, Rocco Spindler and Josh Burnham as a few recent examples of why we shouldn't turn a blind eye to the mitten.

And not just in Michigan. We compete against Michigan for players all over the Midwest and Northeast, where they chase a lot of the same private and Catholic school players we do. I'd wager they are the single program we go head-to-head with the most of anyone in the country.

We win our share (and some - like JJ McCarthy and Zinter the Elder - we let them win, though of course they'd never admit that). If we're going to drop anyone who's also looking at Michigan because, why? Amorion Walker? we're going to lose out on a lot of kids for no good reason.

Don't be scared. Just go beat them.

Lol @ the last 24 hrs in this thread

We have some reporters who feel really good about our chances with Moore but don't want to make anything public because they are honoring the family or their journalistic integrity to not release anything that hasn't been greenlighted.

The Michigan reporters aren't privy to the same info as our reporters because they speak with Dante/family on different occasions.

WTF is the problem?

Not shitting on Tyler but think it is funny that Dante is literally the anti-Buchner. Super poised, accurate, great mechanics, keeps his eyes down field, likely will be able to contribute early, & solid arm but not a cannon. Likely has a lower ceiling than Buchner but his floor is super high.

The future is hard to predict on most matters. Therefore, it is yet to be seen what a Dante Moore football career will hold.

And yet, it seems his IMMEDIATE impact on recruiting would be HUGE. Would be hard to see how we wouldn't end up top 5 in recruiting for 2023, maybe top 3.

With Dante in the fold along with any other big names who are considering/leaning ND who then pull the trigger due to Dante . . . and this current class as a whole . . . Dante Moore going Irish would be HUGE

Yep, when things are looking up, it's too good to be true so let's freak out. Lol.

Actually, in true ND fan fashion, I just want to know who we are recruiting in '23 or '24 to be his backup in the event he commits, because we all know that young man will be our favorite player on the roster in no time. It's the Irish way.

This reads as if you’re not expecting him to drop 100 spots in the rankings once he commits?

IF ND Lands Moore this class will finish top 3 if they don't I could see it ending up somewhere around 8-10.

Oooh, that's an important square on my NDFB QB Bingo Card. I just need "gym rat" and "cerebral" OR "coach's son" to win now.

Trieu said today almost zero chance his decision goes into the summer. Would take something out of left field.
I've felt we would know come April 1. Maybe the timeline of visits (if taken) pushes that back a bit, but shouldnt be by much.

TL reiterated that we lead for both going into this week. Maybe something changed throughout the week, but leading up, he said we lead. A lot of theories on why CV isn't visiting this week. Still note worthy to say we're in driver seat for both studs.

Ooooooooor they don’t know anything and are just reading the same tea leaves we have and are hedging their bets. Moore commits to ND “I knew it all along but was respecting the families wishes.” Moore goes elsewhere “I had a feeling he was flaky, that’s why I never put in an ND CB.”

Interesting that it seems Loy is the only person that thinks ND leads for CV.

Seems like Dante has a good head on his shoulders and a great supporting cast in his family not many recruits have. I predict he skips the football hot bed tour and comes to ND the weekend of the 18th and commits shortly after.

You think the majority of recruits don't have good support systems?

Maybe my phrasing is off here. I think Dante has an excellent support system in place when compared to other elite recruits. That is not say they don't have good support systems, but his seems better and is helping him tune out the noise that comes with being a 5 star recruit.

A comparable case IMO would be Dom Merriweather as we learned more about Tobias's recruitment.

someone is certainly getting fed a line of crap, but I would be surprised if Loy went full Koon.
