We saw electric in his last start. Electric and inconsistent are not mutually exclusive.

He had over 330 yds of total offense and accounted for 5 td’s. That is electric against a top 25 SEC team. He’s just very inconsistent from play to play and throw to throw. He averaged 5 yds/rush and over 8yds/att. Those are good numbers. He was also 54.5% comp pct and has multiple turnovers.

Yup, that is exactly how I meant it... He's going to absolutely make a bunch of big plays, with unfortunately for Bammers, one or two of those big plays going for the other team.

I don't know what to think about this. I have no faith that Rees taught him to throw well. I have no faith in Buchner scanning the field and making responsible throws.

But he will be surrounded by playmakers.

I do know this - it is going to be explosive, one way or the other. (and I'm taking the under)

Agree until you said top 25 sec team… we all know that D was a shell of itself with all the opt outs, and the D wasn’t that good to begin with.

Not like ND was at full strength either. But either way, was still his first game back after several months.

Wish well on him. Seems like a nice kid.
Truth, we were missing our biggest receiving weapon, Mayer, not to mention Foskey. We also gifted SC with 3 INTs, two being pick 6's.

Nobody cares if players are missing or sitting out. At the end of the day you either got the W or you didn't and that's all that most people will remember.

Just like Mayer and Foskey sat out.

Hey, if we want to remove all credit from Freeman, Golden, and every player/coach on that team because of the opt outs, cool. They all get no credit. But, if we’re being reasonable and say that was a solid win. Well, he gets his as well.

At some point with Buchner at the helm, it's going to get ugly, maybe not this week against USF, but at some point... Ugly

35 pass attempts as a freshman. Gets hurt in second game last year, doesn't come back until bowl game.

The only thing I can say I saw of Buchner was not enough to really determine who or what he is. I suspect we find out soon enough.
Yet every single one of us was psyched when we heard Capt Sam was headed our way and that he would be at the helm.

He will actually look good for a couple games probably. Aren’t they playing a pretty soft schedule for a few weeks

This has nothing to do with freeman or golden, etc… this is about Buchner and as you called it, “being electric” vs them. He was electric vs possibly the worst D we faced all year. Not a good proof point.

That’s my point. He almost lost us the game vs a bad team “again”.

Let’s not forget how awful he was in the Blue Gold game. He was better in his freshman year. He was also electric in his freshman year in the change up role. Maybe he will be at LSU in 2024.

Kizer says hi. He may or may not work out. We as fans haven't gotten anything resembling a legit sample size. He may be very good. He may be a turnover machine. He may be something in the middle.

I think the BGgame was a dummy spit.

He also chalked up two pick-6s, right?

From what I’ve seen from the SEC so far, as long as the opponent isn’t Jawja, he shouldn’t have to worry too much about any other SEC opponent.

I don’t wish him any ill. I’m sure it was a tough decision, certainly a risky one. He has an opportunity now, which is more than what most were giving him as recent as last week. I won’t be mad if he is successful, unless it’s against us.
Yep. This is why he left. He wasn’t going to be starting in Week Three for us. He’s got a shot now. Pulling for him to make the most of it. It doesn’t harm Notre Dame at all.

If Buchner plays the way he did vs Marshall I would be concerned if I was a Bama fan.

Buchner was brought in for a reason, he gets his opportunity today.

Has Richard Young played this year?
