But, we know it's not Tommy's offense that they are running, it's the "Alabama offense"
Is that a thing? Like it’s a product that Bama keeps under lock and key? I was unaware. I figured They bring in OCs to put new spins on their philosophy. I guess I would think TR would not have to learn a playbook like the kids would.

I my opinion, Buchner is EXTREMELY athletic. He just doesn't know what to do with it, and seems to lack certain "learned-in-action" instincts. ....... plus, are you guys serious about him starting for Alabama this week?

I think they keep the same offense because they churn through so many coordinators and Saban would rather they learn a new offense and not the players.

If that’s true I should probably know that haha. I guess I never got the memo. That’s probably true as they do have coordinators come through a lot and move the next year.

He hasn’t been named starter but he was allegedly splitting first team reps with Milroe this week. I bet they give them both snaps since they’re playing a completely overmatched USF.

My guess is the Alabama coaches huddled and said, "well, it can't be worse than last weekend, right?"
Saban chewing out a terrified Buchner on the sidelines in SEC play is about to be the defining meme of the 2023 season IMO

Buchner is going to be electric against USF. I am more curious what he does against Ole Miss.
He very well could be, we never really saw "electric Buchner". We often saw "up and down" Buchner. Some great throws followed by some headscratching plays. Look forward to watching this one.

Our 11 year plan of avenging the national championship game embarrassment via trojan horse has almost been fully realized.

35 pass attempts as a freshman. Gets hurt in second game last year, doesn't come back until bowl game.

The only thing I can say I saw of Buchner was not enough to really determine who or what he is. I suspect we find out soon enough.

Reports out there that Buchner will be starting this weekend.
According to 247Sports' John Talty, Tyler Buchner is expected to make the start for the Crimson Tide at QB when the team heads to Tampa to face South Florida, marking an early change at quarterback for Alabama.

The change might appear to be coming early in the season, but Alabama now has its back against the wall with one loss already on the schedule before beginning the SEC portion of its 2023 campaign.

Agree... I just can't get over his throwing motion change causing inaccuracy and his decision making in such limited opportunities vs average opponents leading to 4 pick 6's.

We saw electric in his last start. Electric and inconsistent are not mutually exclusive.

He had over 330 yds of total offense and accounted for 5 td’s. That is electric against a top 25 SEC team. He’s just very inconsistent from play to play and throw to throw. He averaged 5 yds/rush and over 8yds/att. Those are good numbers. He was also 54.5% comp pct and has multiple turnovers.

And that SC team was seriously depleted.
