I love neg reps. I still stand by my claim that if all reps were calculated in absolute value, my total reputation points would break the website.

I would love to see a screenshot of you reputation received page, I can't even fathom.

*disclaimer- these are not the same pics you send me via snap, those are different.

Not as dumb as checking to see if you have been neg repped
I navigate the entire site from the User CP. It's the same screen that shows you all of your subscribed threads.

Went back and checked for funsies... my last neg was from Lax because he's too simple-minded to wrap his head around The Holdo Maneuver from SW: TLJ.

It isn't trolling. 4 wins would have been an accurate prediction two years ago but isn't listed as an option. Not only is <6 wins a possibility, it's more likely based on past performance than 13 or 14 wins, both of which are included.

<6 or 3 wins? I never said <6 wins couldn't be chosen but WhoTF really believes we'll lose 9 games this year?

It's trolling given your posting history. It's always apparent when another NDnationite joins this forum. Their anti Kelly stances coupled with constant negativity are apparent.

This isn't fVcking rocket science. I'll bet you any amount of real dollars that ND doesn't win less than 7 games this year and since you believe 3 should be an option, I'm sure you'll take my bet, right?

Honestly, it’s the Oline I’m most concerned about. I think losing the big 3 (Big Mike, Nelson, and Heistand) will have an affect on our offense. They were the heart and soul of our team last year, and a huge reason for our success. Quinn seems to have done a nice job keeping the momentum up, but he has some big shoes to fill. Brandon is talented on the run, but without a productive Oline, it could be an even bigger struggle for him this year.

My order of concern:
1. Oline
2. Running backs
3. QB

With all that said, 14-0, of course.

Fuck failure. Fuck realism. Belief can’t always be based on exactness.

How do you go back and see all your reps? I can only see the last 20, which puts me at the beginning of the year.

BTW, I repped your post that was negged for retribution.

I am with you here, but it is slightly ironic that we have two on the OL in Bars and Mustipher that were named 2nd team Preseason AA. Not many teams can claim two.

If Eichenberg is serviceable at LT, I believe we can have another good OL unit, but definitely big shoes to fill. He's the biggest question mark to me.

I think Hainsey and Kraemer on the right side will settle in nicely. This is a unit that I believe can be a strength by the end of the season if they stay healthy; I just hope we don't get burned week 1 up front.

There obviously would be, but he was a huge part of why our OL has been so dominant recently. His departure compounds the loss of Q and McG this year. Quinn has fortunately been able to maintain our recruiting momentum on that front, but pretending that he's an upgrade over Harry is just blowing sunshine at this point.

This. Olin Kreutz called HH the best OL coach he's ever had. That's good enough for me.

Even leaving the coaches out of the discussion, we're creating a line with new players and/or new positions. What made the McG/Nelson tandem so great wasn't just their talent, it was their trust -- built up after two years of playing next to each other. No new combo of players is great from the beginning; they need time to build cohesion.

awww, are you going to lose sleep tonight over a worthless online "reputation?" I disagree with your post, so I negged. Didn't know it was that big of a deal. I didn't bat an eye when you got petty and went back to a post I made last week and negged it.

The two quarterbacks who have the potential to start on this football team led us to 10 wins last year, and a bowl victory over a top SEC defense. And we have a strong enough defense to support sub-par QB play if that were to be the way the season played out.

Rub some dirt on it, kid.

I kind of like this new guy, he has moxie.

Michigan runs a lot of twists up front, right? I think we give up a minimum of five sacks in this first game. Throw in about six or seven tackles for loss, and I think it's going to be a frustrating game to watch.

I could certainly see that happening, and I think turnovers and limiting big plays will be the key of the game. Wimbush will have a lot of chances to throw some 1v1 balls to our tall receivers/TEs against some somewhat vertically challenged (but talented) defenders. Needs to be decisive and get rid of the ball quickly, and put it in a spot to let our guys make a play 1 on 1.

I could see patterson having an equally frustrating game with our front 7 and strong secondary. If we get get Love, Pride, or a safety to score on a T/O, even better.

I like our chances being at home, and the fact that patterson ran a total of like 29 plays at Ole Miss (literally) and is expected to learn a complicated pro scheme over a few months, is a big ask against our experienced D.

Hmmmm...........

If ND wins 10+ games this year, it will be the first time the Irish have had back to back, double-digit win seasons since ;92-'93.............

Going to have to sleep on this one.....

!0-2 and looking hard-nosed stout doing so --- real football.

Seven players mentioned on All-American teams. Five from the defense.

.... IE tends to think that all other teams' players will get better with their greater years of experience but somehow forget that Notre Dame's will get better too --- often by a lot. Our three deep DLine wears the bad guys down so badly that Love and Pride (Love and Pride --- feel the vibes) set interception records. Nobody scores more than twenty on the defense. Kelly's offense grinds most games out. (C'mon Brandon, make me happy.)

FWIW, ESPN's FPI has us at #6 overall and the 4th most likely to go undefeated, behind Clemson, Alabama, and Georgia. Projected record of 10-2.

Was looking at Clemson's schedule in relation to Kelly Bryant starting over Trevor Lawrence and I noticed the ESPN Football Power Index...

99.4% Ball State
97.0% Vanderbilt
96.6% vs. Navy
93.6% Pittsburgh
90.8% vs. Syracuse
82.2% @ Wake Forest
80.3% Florida State
77.8% @ Northwestern
76.1% Stanford
72.4% @ Virginia Tech
68.3% Michigan
59.1% @ USC

Anyone with thoughts on that? I think ND has a decent chance at an 11-1 or 10-2 record. The bottom 6 games are brutal but I do think ND has better talent than almost all of the teams on their schedule.

This sort of evaluation is pretty normal for ND. Head-to-head in a one-game-everybody-healthy-and-rested situation we can beat almost everyone every year. But that's the whole point of the never-let-up schedule.

The comment that someone made that "Ball State doesn't do anything for me" is stated self-centeredly and goes precisely to the point as well. It's not about doing something for us; it's about doing something for our loyal hard working warriors who are not machines.

ND's Brian Fremeau just released his SoS Ratings for 2018. It shows how many losses each team can expect against their specific schedule if they're: (1) elite; (2) good; or (3) merely average.

For ND those figures are 1, 4(!) and 7. Point being, the preseason quantitative models indicate we're much more likely to end up around 8-4 than 11-1.

Missed.

I said 9-3 regular season and 10-3 after bowl win. I did note that I thought the W’s could be higher if Wimbush played better. The offense did, so we won 12. It just wasn’t Wimbush at the helm, lol.

10-2, with a close loss to either Stanford or VT and then a soul-killing, playoff-thwarting defeat to end the season at USC. Top ten defense, good-enough offense, but not quite the weapons to keep up with late-season USC.

We make an NY6 bowl, but Michigan and FSU have down years so “we didn’t beat anyone.” There’s renewed grumbling that BK can’t get us to the next level. So he jumps (before the bowl game) to be the next head coach at Michigan, and leads them to the 2020 national championship, while we whiff on our top three coaching choices, hire PJ Fleck and spend the next decade wandering the wilderness again.

Enjoy it now, guys.

Well, the Irish did better than I did. Overestimated the caliber of Stanford and VT (and USC, though I was correct that we'd lose late to someone with better offensive weapons). Still heard the "didn't beat anyone" grumbling, but at least we didn't lose to anyone either. Bonus: PJ Fleck is still not our coach.
