Also, how many QBs can lock themselves in a bathroom in Jersey?

Correct, Wentz doesn't strike me as a coke guy. He's probably a cough syrup/have lots of wild cherry Pepsis guy.

I think the Browns would be crazy not to take Watson.

His floor is soooo high and his ceiling isn't much lower than Kizer or the UNC QB. Can't take a defensive player at #1 IMO unless it's a transcendent talent.

I'm not so sure. Watson is fantastic on the big stage. When the lights are shining the brightest he turns it on. However, he didn't have a very good year this year. He didn't seem to give his best during the grind of the regular season. The NFL season is so much longer and more of a grind - will Watson be able to succeed in that? Also, will he stay healthy throughout the NFL season with how much he leaves the pocket?

I think he got caught thinking most games would be a cakewalk. He will soon find out with the Browns that he has to play at his best in every game in order to win. I don't think he will be any worse than Jameis Winston statistically.

That's what a lot of people have Garrett tagged as.

His willingness to take big hits would be a concern for me as well. The Browns are in good shape though I would think to go defense at #1 and see whose left among Kizer, Watson, Trubisky, Kaaya, Van Gorder, etc. at 12. Their front office has also shown a willingness to wheel and deal, could they move back a few picks and grab another 1st rounder next year, still get one of the top defenders and a QB at 12?

I would like to see him be successful as he seems like a good guy, I just don't agree with your assessment. Whether he thought the regular season games were going to be a cakewalk or not doesn't excuse the bad decisions and poor mechanics he had during those games. Good NFL quarterbacks are consistent - Watson is definitely not consistent.

Still shocked to see Peppers as a first round pick.. The guy doesn't have an NFL position... Maybe Safety but not sure.. typically if you are good at a lot, but not GREAT at any position, You are nothing more than a special teams player

i could see him having a honey badger type career. doing a bit of everything but not making a huge impact in one position

The difference is that Honey Badger is an absolute playmaker and was considered a DPOY candidate in 2015. He's been phenomenal and had way more production than Peppers in college. I think Pep needs to drop some weight and see if he can get some bend in his hips, because he's not strong enough to play the Moneybacker role (Deone Buchanon plays it because he has ridiculous functional strength). Drop some weight, work on coverage and play to your strengths.

I agree. Just because he played well last night doesn't take away all of his history. I also vehemently disagree that his floor is higher than Kizer's. He is inferior to him in every physical feature. If you are looking at them both as projects that need molding, there is no question that Kizer is the better tool set.

Frankly, I don't like any of the QB's in the first round, but all three very well may get picked. I don't think a defensive player has to be generational to be picked first either, he just has to be the best player on the board. Picking a project QB with the first pick just because you need one is beyond silly. You didn't get the first pick because you were only a QB away from being good. You pick the best player on the board or trade out of the pick.

The Browns should be hoping someone falls in love with Garrett or Trubisky in the next 3 months, leak out that either one is their top pick, then make a trade and pick up another 2nd or in this draft. Add Derek Barnett and Reuben Foster in the 1st with Curtis Samuel and a safety in the 2nd.

if it was up to me, i'm taking Watson if I have shot at first qb off the board.

kids a WINNER.

has been vastly underrated his whole career IMO.

kid has led his team to 2 Natl Championship games in a row, no off field issues, can run, is tough as nails and throws well enough.

Yeah, I don't see Watson (or Kizer) lighting the NFL on fire, but if I had to take one, I'll take Kizer every time.

I like Garrett but I like this course of action better than any of these QBs 1st overall...

He'd be great in the role Chung has on the Pats. Plays really close to the line of scrimmage, mainly there to stuff the run and cover TEs and RBs, but also plays nickel in certain matchups.

But, that requires a defense creating a role like that. The Pats typically use two Free Safetys on passing downs and let Chung hangout near the line of scrimmage...not sure how prevalent that is in the NFL.
