hopefully his dad can get in his ear...but this his his order currently osu/fsu/bama

michigan has been on him hard but not gaining the traction

Great class of DT's next year. And most of them are in areas where ND does well. I'd like to see Ademiola joined by Lil Mustipher and one more Top 10 stud, like Fontaine, Friday or one of the St Louis guys. St. louis is loaded in '18-'20 and most of them are at Catholic schools.

Is safety recruiting for Notre Dame turning into defensive end recruiting? It is pretty much equivalent to Mike Brey trying to recruit a big man.

Next year our starters will probably be Studstill and Elliot with Fertita and Tranquill as the backups. The starters are very capable and should be pretty decent but having a SAM linebacker and a career special teamer as your backups is absolutely pathetic.

Unless Brian Kelly starts making SEC moves and starts forking up cash, it looks like we will be landing ZERO safeties in the 2017 recruiting class and it is a position where we probably need the most help at (I'm not sold that Robertson will be a safety in college). But thank God we keep bringing in 3-4 cornerbacks each cycle as if we already don't have an over abundance of cornerbacks already on the team.

Why couldn't the staff go after a guy like Ben Stewart from Cathedral? He plays with Stepp and Cathedral guys are almost a guarantee if you offer them. Sure, he'd be a guaranteed redshirt and probably wouldn't play until 2019 but at least he would help keep the depth at a healthy level. But instead we're left with 2 good options, a SAM linebacker, and a UFC fighter.

RJ Potts would've been a decent Plan Z too.

I'll have to edit it again. You could consider Robertson a safety but there is the chance he plays receiver.

Robertson tweets quite a bit to DB recruits and wanting to make Notre Dame's DB unit elite. I'm pretty sure he was recruited as a DB and wants to play DB. He'll be a safety, IMO.

ISD seems to think that he's playing safety and that it's been the plan for a while

I hope they are right then. But we should not be content with just Robertson at safety. There is no reason why they shouldn't be able to land two legit safeties a year.

Just realized ( I guess I knew it anyway ) what's going on at Alabama tonight when Cam Robinson got up to accept his award and there sat Saban smug/smiling/content on a job well done. And you wonder what happened to Notre Dame-----the answer is those guys get kicked out of Notre Dame as well they should. Congrats to Saban, hellova job with the best talent and an admn that lets you do just what ever the hell you want. I don't like it and I wish the rest of college football would wise up. Winning well is one thing but winning the way they do it is bull^%$#. By the way-- Finebaum says its because he's a tireless shrewd worker who is the most innovative and cunning coach in America- probably the greatest coach of all time-surely you jest ace.

I wasn't sure which thread to post this in but I was reading the comments on the 247 post about the upcoming recruiting weekend and some poster commented that he felt Banks, Simmons, Paschal, Calvin and most likely Graham would end up committing. Loy said that he agrees. Loy seems to be fairly informed lately so I like this.

I hate to ask mods for anything as I love this site and everything the mods so but could we please get the commit list updated? Pretty please?

One positive we can take away from not being bowl eligible this year is that we've been able to use that time to really hammer down on the recruiting and it sure seems to be paying off.

Sorry if already posted. Is there known decision timelines for Graham, Johnson, Paschal, etc?

Updated. Added new commits/took away Werner/added Simmons, Greg Johnson, etc. Also moved our committed athletes to their expected positions.

Thanks BigHead. Reps.

Also I can't recall seeing an expected count for the class (I know it's fluid). But we're at 18. Even if we finish on a crazy run of Graham, paschal, Johnson, Martin, and Calvin (hypothetical). 23. Will there be room to try and grab another guy or two?

Simmons is likely coming to ND as well. I'm a little nervous about filling up but I've looked into it and it'll be a few weeks before we'll have a decent idea of spots left.

So what is the plan now? We went 100 to 0 real quick for Paschal and Graham (by far the two most important players on the board).

It looks like we will be lucky enough to grab Oliver and Antjuan. Too bad they are both at a position where we are pretty deep at.

I hope Mike Elko can recruit the shit out of the defensive line and brings a d-line coach that can whoop some ass.

He's a zero star according to 247. Here are his highlights. I'd say he deserves a 2-star rating.
