I agree I am from Chardon (Div 2) and we beat Ed's (Div 1) in 1998. They where not very good that year so it is very weird to see them ranked above Iggy.

I'm from Mentor...they play some football over here as well. It's been great to see the clashes between Iggy, St. Ed's, and Mentor the last few years. Ed's has really stepped it up recently...some serious coaching going on over there.

As someone who grew up 20 min from St. Ed's, I can't tell you how weird it is to see it typed out as Saint Edward's.

It's crazy to see the swing in football NE Ohio has taken. 10 years ago, Ed's was decent, but not great, and the area was dominated by Iggys, Solon, Mentor, and Strongsville (where I'm from). Strongsville has now dropped out and Eds has moved in. It's very weird.

In the last fifteen years, Saint Edward's has been awarded a state playoff berth thirteen times. Edward's dominated a very good team with great line play. Disparity in total offense - 396 yds to 87 yds. Gilman's highly rated dual threat quarterback, Kai Locksley(FSU verbal, ran for 45 yds and passed for 13 yds, Gilman's only score was on a kickoff return by Jelani Roberts(Northwestern verbal).

Didn't St. Edward blowing them out? You make it through the first quarter yet?

I think this is the first year for the mercy rule in Ohio. Someone correct me if I am wrong but if a team gets up 30 after half time the game clock turns into a running clock.

If you watch Crawford play from the stands, you wouldn't immediately notice that he is a "Mighty Mite." The Notre Dame commit certainly plays big, and he hits like a 6-foot-3, 250-pound linebacker. It is only when you stand next to him that you realize he is just 5-foot-9 and 165 pounds. Tackling has always been a strength of Crawford's game, but he doesn't just bring ball carriers to the ground -- he tries to deliver a big blow every chance he gets, and succeeds the vast majority of the time. The four-star cornerback brings plenty of other skill sets to the table -- he has great speed, sees the field very well and is an exceptional athlete -- but it is the reckless abandon with which he plays the game that most people take away from watching him. -- Josh Helmholdt, Midwest regiona analyst

Yep. I was at the last two Mentor HS games and the game clock kept moving once the lead eclipsed 30. Makes for a quick game.

Dude flat balled out. Had 1 pick and almost had a second. His ability to close on a receiver when the ball is in the air is amazing. Super pumped for him. Great ball skills.

Where did he originally commit? Too bad for that program, it lost a great recruit. I feel very sorry for that program.
