He'd hit someone with 1315 lbs of force. Top speed just over 18MPH

Thanks and reps!

That really helps visualize taking a hit from a kid like this. Imagine... getting blidsided by a bag weighing 220 pounds moving at 18mph.

Holy hell that would hurt.

Some additional anecdotal proof comes from the defenders on his film...he runs over many backs and some of those d-backs wanted nothing to do with tackling him. Can't wait!

Watched the tape again. Reminds me of Hershel Walker. Ultra strong lower body, lowers pads, runs over tacklers and was number 34, no? I like (to borrow a phrase from a poster currently on "vacation").

Long live the Rack.

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't it last year that the 40 times from the Opening were coming back so much slower than everyone expected? And there was some excuse about conditions? Are "conditions" the same? If not what is different or has been done about it?

I am trying to find out how impressive this time was.

Why is Rack on vacay?

Wow we have plenty of lightning in the backfield for 2013, but 2014 is bringing the THUNDER!

Self-imposed per Clash.

Good for him. Stepping away and remembering what it's like to simply not reply to everything you disagree with is good for the soul. Made me a better poster. I know a few other people on here that could benefit from it. I hope to see our friend Rack again soon though.

I think Greg Bryant qualifies as thunder as well.

Yes you are correct. I just got excited watching Hoods highlights for the first time. He looks like Lacy a little as another poster said very powerful runner. Would love to have power runners like Bettis again.

Comparisons to Lacy are justified, but honestly, Hood looks to be better at this point in his career than Lacy was. Hood runs behind his pads better and makes better cuts.

I would say he is both

It's interesting that Folston is basically listed as 1 inch shorter and 2 lbs lighter than Bryant, but he is not seen as a power back as well. People all put on weight differently.

IMO, Hood is thunder, Carlisle is lightning.

Wooly, I couldn't agree with you more!!!! I got banned for shooting my mouth off, and rightfully so, and still took at least 6 months off after my ban, and I find myself a better poster. Nothing on this board is meant to be personal when first posted......some posters make it that way. Sometimes the way we get involved in trying to understand what each 17-18 year old is thinking is way beyond me. Relax, enjoy the ride that is recruiting, and wait for the upcoming season!!!!

Some guys are just made for football.

As far the face of the ND program...

Quinn passed the torch to Clausen.
Manti took over the reigns eventually (not sure if Floyd ever really did).
This year Irish Choclate appears to be the man.
My guess is that Jaylon Smith will be next, but I am also starting to get the strong feeling that Hood will take that mantle eventually.

Hood has really proven himself a leader already imo, he certainly shows the signs that he could be a torch carrier. Love the way he's been on recruits and helping get them interested in the Irish. He's been a huge piece for this class.

I don't know about "the face" of the program, but I'd probably throw Elmer in the group of potential future leaders w/ Hood and Jaylon.

There are a lot of leaders coming up, but to really be the "face" of the program you have to be (1) a stud, (2) visible, and (3) naturally charismatic. It's the difference between Tuitt and Nix.

I think ND's ground game is going to become Tier 1 again over the next few years, and Hood will become a really big deal... feel free to disagree!

In 2015, Bryant, Folston, and Hood will all be in that backfield.

Rather brain-reeling, but how does Kelly get them the ball? {Sure, somebody may not work out, but with these three guys the odds that any of them are flops seems VERY small.}
