We have offered Brock Wrights teammate OT Austin Deculus

We actually offered him last month and before you ask, yes, I knew about this a month ago

Power Hour said this morning that Harry may be bringing in 5 OL in the 17 class and are shooting for the stars...literally!

Lugg
Gibbons
Trey Smith
Jedrick Willis
Wyatt Davis

Those 5 would be my 5 at this early stage.

He plays in the #9 or #10 or 13 California divisions. Is it great by SoCal standards? No. But it is metro San Diego so it's not total garbage. What impressed me about his was balance and lower body strength.

You got to like a film where the first time they tackle him is 6 minutes in. lol

I agree with this post!

I don't care how bad the competition is, he is way too 'much faster!'

Not knowing about the competition, unless they are lying through their teeth about his size, the guys he is playing against look plenty 'big enough.' And that cements the fact that he can deliver a blow just about as well as any running back I have seen in high school.

He cuts very well, and his balance is extraordinary, just not elite.

His hands look really good. I would bring him in as a second back, an APB, or even a slot. Kind of like having a cross between CJ Saunders and Tony Jones, Jr.!

Maybe the reason he doesn't have a profile is because he doesn't want to play college football?

Does that mean there are going to be very few fifth years in the next couple of years?

Listened to Wiltfong last week do an interview. He said with all the new coaches and moving of responsibilities a year ago, they expected the 16' class to be "much more of a grind" and the class has turned out better then expected.

With that said, Wiltfong went on to say that he expects ND to put together one of the top classes in 17' now that everyone has had at least a year in place, been able to build relationships, etc. etc.

That's a lot of potential guards. Get the feeling Gibbons, Wills and Davis are going to be guards (if) at ND. For example, I'm not sure Wyatt Davis is even 6-4 barefoot and I think I remember Wills saying he's not open to playing guard. I haven't watched him enough to know if he's an ND level tackle prospect but he looks like a guard

If I get to shoot for the stars, I'm going after one more of the 6-6+ guys at the top of the rankings like Myers, Ashley, Wilson, Sarell, Slayton, Deculus, Troxell.

Would really like to see if an offer would generate any interest from Sarell. It sounds like he has no problem leaving Seattle. Also, maybe Mr. Bongiovi could give Isaiah Wilson a lift to South Bend for a game being that they're Poly Prep brothers.

Some other guard prospects to keep an eye on are Robert Hainsley, Ben Petrula, CJ Thorpe and...

Matt Bockhorst!

I was more speaking to the ones we are in the best shape with versus the best in the class.

However, Lugg and Smith are OT's for sure and then you can bring in Gibbons and Wyatt as OG's, with Willis being the swing guy that Heistand covets so much. I'd say that'd be pretty stellar even though there are others rated higher.

Willis is a big boy so that's where the OG talk comes from. However, every camp he's been to, he's done very well on the outside at OT.

Teammate of new PWO Mick Assaf. Get 'em Mick!

Also -- their teammate is Andrew Thomas, '17 OT who's #56 Overall on Rivals. Is he next?

After listening to the most recent Power Hour, I want Osiris even more. I didn't know that was possible.

Recruiting never stops. While I think 2016 filled some holes, I think it was underwhelming at the top of the board. There's a lot of nice players that will be starters at ND, but a few "can't miss" and "plug and play" players would've obviously been helpful. With that being said, let's see everyone's class wishes for 2017:

QB: Avery Davis. I'm not completely sold on Davis personally, but he seems to be the only quarterback that ND is really pushing for. I think that's a dangerous stradegy but I trust this staff.
RB: Stephen Carr and AJ Dillon. AJ is a big power back with good agility and athleticism. The kid lives ND and ND is in his blood; always good to have guys like that. Carr is a stud and it's always nice to steal a kid from the enemy.
WR: Osiris St. Brown, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Tarik Black. Shoot for the stars here. Wide receiver won't be a big need after DRob commits so go for broke. OSB has the family connection and Peoples-Jones is close with Gilmore. Go for it.
TE: Brock Wright and Cole Kmet. Absolutely amazing job by the staff locking up its first two atop their TE big board.
OL: Josh Lugg, Dillan Gibbons, Trey Smith, Walker Little, Austin Jackson. Again, shoot for the stars. Solid foundation with Lugg and Gibbons so go for it all here. Trey Smith is my favorite lineman in this class on offense.
DT: Haskell Garrett, Jerron Cage, Dalyn-Wade Perry. Steal Cage from the enemy with the family connection. ND leads for Garrett and battle Stanford for Perry. DT is a big need in this class IMO.
DE: Joshua Kaindoh, Robert Beal, Eric Crosby. Robert Beal is a great start at this position. Kaindoh is a kid that is a "plug and play" type player. Keeping him from OSU would be great. Crosby likes ND, I'm not sure he's been offered yet.
LB: David Adams, Baron Browning, Maleik Gray, Josh Clarke. I think at least four LBs are a must here. Need to fill the holes with talent. Lots of talent and speed on this list.
CB: Ambry Thomas, DeAngelo Gibbs, Jamyest Williams, Thomas Graham. Graham and Carr are a package (currently). Gibbs is the best of the bunch.
S: Jeffery Okudah, RJ Potts. Okudah is an absolute stud safety. Love this kids game against great competition. Potts is a local kid with a ton of talent.

Dream list obviously but there are a lot of connections and momentum on this board. Go get 'em staff.

Nice list but no way we take 7 DB's in 2017 I see maybe 3

Perhaps. I actually believe there's only six on that list and I'm not so sure all of the recruits that were brought in this year to play DB, will end up there.

We lose Luke, Redfield, and Butler to graduation. Tranquill is a pass break-up celebration away from being in a wheelchair.

If it were these six, I'd kill for this DB class.

Bingo. not to mention Baratti and Sebastian both gone (although never really played).

DJ Morgan and Spencer Perry both could end up as OLB's. Perry more than Morgan, imo. Tranquill is already that kind of player too.

5-6 seems like a good # depending how it all shakes out.
