Yeah, I still use Rivals when I want some basic information on a recruit (I don't pay).

Man, I think I'm all caught up now....I stopped on page 2 last night. Damn if this thread didn't blow up lol

Oh, and again, I want to know who it was this week that said "This has been a drama free off season." I think it was Whiskey lol.

[EDIT] Nevermind, NDdomer2 found it. It was an article from TP!

Sure wasn't. That's an obvious jinx.

Let's find whoever posted that and neg-rep him back into the Stone Age.

Haha, my apologies then, my memory isn't what it was. I went looking for the post through a few threads last night and
couldn't find it.

Unsubscribing is the biggest thing, but acting like we won't visit the site is a little redic.

I've checked it for QB recruit we're expected to look at.

I'm very glad that so many joined in on this and that it made a difference, but I also hope we have at least one IE member who keeps his access. IMO we're being unrealistic if we say we don't want that.

The only time I have ever visited 247 is when LAX or other respected posters drop links from it directly to me and or others...

I honestly wouldn't even know about 247 if not for here... it's SUPER easy to not go there.

I think the Koon wins the internet with his Barnett / "Notre Dame Man" post from 2 weeks ago.

It's an all-timer in retrospect.

Damn....I bet it was.

His emotional state has been a bit volatile lately. I nominate connect the dots as his whipping boy.

I honestly don't remember every saying that. Pretty sure irishog is being his kuehnja-troll self, but you guys can put it on me since I don't give two fucks one way or the other.

We're going to have a great class this year, I can feel it. Can't wait to see what QBs the staff invites to II. They're going to turn this into some positive energy. My horoscope told me so.

I have a confession to make...

Last week, on my NCAA football game, I completed the '14 season with a national championship. I recruited the #1 "balanced" QB in the '15 recruiting class. My rosters are completely named, but I never add actual recruits that haven't signed yet.

In a moment of zest, I renamed one signee: my QB, Blake Barnett.

It's all my fault.

Actually, there was one other I did, and won a few national champions with: Bubba Starling haha.

The difference with that one though was I actually created him and put him in the recruiting database, and then had to work to sign him.

Usually I just rename the random recruits that I actually sign after the real-life signing day.

as long as you don't add him on a baseball game, you should be ok...not hitting too good of a batting avg... .188 avg

Bro. You NEVER name kids on NCAA before they sign. That's like the ultimate jinx.

Yup, I had Vanderdoesn't in my targeted recruits one year.

The funny part is, I tried to force him to sign with the Irish. I set his stats as a typical DT/NT, set his kicking ability to 0 and made him a Punter. The idea was to recruit him hard while no one else does, then retrain him as the desired profession.

He ended up signing with some other school, but it wasn't UCLA. I was pissed.

TJ in a pretty calm demeanor has been laying some gems at II.

I'll let my previous statement stand as it is, Ringo, if you don't mind. Nothing more needs to be said on this, although much more needs to be done in such matters by all involved. Recruiting is enough of a cesspool already, but it's becoming dangerously close to the scumbag business that now is college basketball recruiting, especially when adjunct parties interject and involve themselves in the process. And there is no question here.

I'll otherwise agree with and second BigNDfan's summary post above.

And I'll once again endorse the work and comportment of your II staff here. Pete had it exactly right in his reaction, and unlike that other site, I'd bet real action would be taken in matters that clearly cross lines and violate norms. There's good reason that Pete and Tim (from a lead standpoint) have earned trust and respect around the Gug and ND generally. You can live with that.

What happened with that 247 guy. What I do is I just find one of his posts. Click on his user name and then I can see his last 5 posts. Then read those and see if its worth it.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am not a subscriber, nor will I ever be in response to Mr. Hopkins' "journalism?". In fact, there will never be any ad revenue generated from me either. Thank Messrs Hopkins and Schurburtt for me.

NDFan420,

Thank you for taking the time to e-mail us regarding the conduct of Justin Hopkins following the Blake Barnett news last night. I can assure you that his behavior was completely inappropriate and unprofessional and it’s being addressed and handled this morning by 247Sports. We understand that you are upset with actions of Hopkins, but please reconsider canceling from BlueandGold.com. Our staff of Lou, Dan, Andrew, Steve and Tom work very hard to bring you the very best news and information on Notre Dame and recruiting and will continue to do so. We do hope that you might reconsider becoming a member down the road.

Looks like they didn't even read your comment and that your not a subscriber. They just saw the word "Hopkins" and hit the "AutoReply" button. Makes me confident that they are reading all of the messages.

 "Please reconsider cacelling from B&G.com, despite the fact you were never a subscriber." I see that Hopkins isn't the only short sighted employee at 247.
