Anyone from UCLA that can back out of their letter and come to ND?

I'm having a couple of beers and doing film evals today of some of the recent commits, so get excited.

Kofi Wardlow: Like his size, like his straight forward get off the ball, but he's very awkward/slow side to side. Like the pick up though - no harm in it. Hopefully he can add some lateral quickness and obviously strength. Koon comparison: Bo Wallace. I give him a 3-star.

Myron Amosa: Was hoping for better athleticism, not fast and can't step to the side, but has tremendous size. Kind of looks like a giant Daniel Cage (Koon comparison) with slightly less nasty - he will be a valuable player though, especially if he gets stronger and plays with an edge. I also give him a 3-star.

Jafar Armstrong: PLAYER. Goes after the ball and catches it like a man. Koon comparison is Rhema Mcknight. 4-star.

Jeremiah Owusu-K: Tackles like a specimen. Doesn't have great athleticism, although he did start out his hudl video by flexing, so it was really hard not to give him a 4th star. Koon comparison, and I'm not sure how I feel about it, but a taller Mathias Farley. 3-star.

Jordan Genmarth Heath: I'm 1:06 into his film. STUD. Koon comparison: Taylor Mays. 5-star.

Jonathan McCollister: I know he's not recent, but I wanted to check him out. Watched his junior hudl film. This guy knows how to move in a phone booth. He can move - and move efficiently. Koon comparison: he's a poor man's Aaron Lynch to me. Just finds a way to not be bothered by blockers - low 4-star.

You'd think ND would be able to get the best Grad transfers in the country considering most of them are not NFL talents and would be able to backdoor their way into a ND degree before graduating.

Could he play a different position? I don't think ND should take a RB. They need some DB's. My opinion anyway.

he is a RB....did u notice BK said that cj holmes was going to be "cross trained" at both wr and RB....all it takes is 1 guy to go down and another to have a lingering minor ankle or some other kind and boom we loose any explosion at the position...it seems like a log jam but man shit can happen especially w/ the way Long has used the rb position 2 back sets

adams
williams
jones jr-no experience
holmes-no experience

on II podcast they mentioned that ND might be looking for a veteran backup Quarterback ala Evan Sharpley back in the day. Interesting.

They can look all they want but what grad transfer is going to willingly spend his final year knowing he's a backup?

The ones looking for a Mendoza MBA. ie the smart ones.

Screw it, like I said above, the last for Irish starters all had good first year performances. Go get this guy to grad transfer instead:

University of Northern Iowa Athletics - Karter Schult - 2015

I understand that - but if we're taking a 5th year QB who's already forfeited the idea that he wants to play his final year (knowing he'd be a backup), is he even going to be better than Ian Book? Just looking at this from a football perspective of why we'd want a QB like that -- for the kid, I'm sure there are some that are smart enough to willingly take a back seat for a MBA from our lady.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't go after a QB. Plus Book is NorCal, like Brady, Rogers, Goff, Browning, etc., he's gold, Jerry, gold!

I'd go after an FCS kid who went to some smart kid school like William & Mary or Colgate that had 15 sacks and wants to get some draft rec after his Grad Transfer year. IF I had space which there isn't right now.
