I have no idea why Pinkel would leave Mizzou except for more $$... which is possible, but I'm not sure probable.

Well it is Michigan. That alone makes it a pretty big deal.

To play devil's advocate, he is from Ohio and spent ten years at Toledo before Missouri so being closer to home might be a draw for him.

Also, yeah, money.

I just don't see tony, or anyone, ever being a success at CSU. its one thing to be like someone said above: at a better football school than a umass or a uconn etc but to me Id like to see tony end up somewhere he can actually do well if he does leave.

but I guess its "nowhere to go but up" at CSU...

Colorado State's won 18 games over the last two years. Presumably the cupboard's not bare. And the guy he'd be replacing just got one of the 15 or so best jobs in the country.
CSU's not a bad gig.

Thy also got a huge pay check from UF. One would think the next coach could see some benefits of that.

Highly doubt they're going to throw the bank at a 1st time head coach with ZERO O/D-coordinator experience to boot.

I didn't mean necessarily through pay or salary but incentive based deals are popular for new coaches or general upgrades to the program.

CSU just got approval yesterday for their new on campus stadium. This could lead the way to them and Boise moving into the Big 12.

I do find it ironic that Kelly and Meyer made calls on behalf of Alford when Kelly has not moved him into the OC position and Urbie did not (as far as we know) try to bring him to OSU. I like Alford a lot, but don't feel he is ready for a HC position yet.

CSU job >>>>>>> KU job

At KU you have worse talent and a harder schedule. That is a dead end job and Vince fucking Lombardi couldn't turn around the flaming bag of doo doo in Lawrence.

And to answer your question, usually that's the case.

Kansas did have a good coach there, but they got greedy and fired Mangino. Best coach they could ever have had.

I agree 100%. It was never going to get better. But KU continues to throw gasoline on the tire fire. Its a shame.

Houston canned Levine after an 7-5 season. Spavital from TAMU looks like a good fit here.

Oregon State: According to 247Sports, Oregon State has reached out to Brady Hoke about its head-coaching position. Hoke previously was an assistant there from 1989-94.

Wow. That would be landing on your feet. Is Hoke the next Lane Kiffin?

As much as I relished his destruction of the program at UM, by all accounts he actually gives a crap about his players. Every player to a man has said so. Kiffin on the otherhand.... Probably not so much.

Right. Hoke is a clown but not a sleaze. All I was referring to was Kiffin's tendency to "fall upward" when he loses a job, or at least to land on his feet.

Hoke knows CA from his time at SDSU, i could see him doing well at OSU. He's probably heartbroken about getting canned by SCUM though

Hoke is a good recruiter and does very well in Cali. He could do very well at OSU (by OSU standards).

Some clown just called into a radio show in Michigan and said he believes BK is going to take over at UM..............

I literally don't know how I would feel about that.

Seems like plenty of people would be happy for us to get rid of Kelly. I'd be crushed; Kelly is a great coach and I want the nonsense to stop happening so he can finally, finally succeed----and NOT at another school, let alone MI. I don't follow the corporations of the pro football circuit...any of them currently looking for a coach?

MGoBlog would melt down. Every one to a man blasts Kelly constantly.

The host (Huge show) is a complete UM homer and always picks against ND but I'm sure if Kelly went to UM he'd guarantee a National Title the same day.

If Kelly went to Michigan, a school he has out recruited while at ND, whose class is currently falling apart, who have to play OSU every year, all while he became the most hated coach in the nation...I would question Kelly's sanity.

Maybe not Michigan but would an Oregon State come calling? Than may not be far fetched.
