One thing that is very clear to me is that, had the season gone like we all hoped it would after FSU, an 11-1 Irish team would not even be in the playoff discussion this year.

We would be in the discussion. We might not get picked but we would be under consideration. ND was ranked higher than TCU and OSU when the tailspin started. Going 11-1 we would have stayed higher and those major bowls would be chompin' at the bit to get ND's ticket sales and TV revenue.

Who do you believe in more the Big12(10) or the Big10(14)? Yes I am the dork that HATES that they don't have the right number of teams to match the Conference name!

I honestly can't answer that question I don't believe either conference is all that strong. I think O$U loss to VT was more of an aberration. If they weren't breaking in a new QB I think they win that game easily.

I also think Baylor and TCU play a style of offense that will give the other teams fits so I want to see one of them against a real defense.

Bama - no issue
Oregon - no issue
FSU - I don't care, they won them all, that still means something to me.
Baylor - tough one but I want to see what their O does against a real defense.

The BIG sucks so it should be
FSU
Alabama
Oregon
TCU

but it will be
Alabama
Oregon
Ohio State
Florida State.

Those were my exact thoughts. Truthfully, the B1G sucked overall top-to-bottom, so beating the living dog crap out of Wisco in my opinion should NOT elevate tO$U into the top 4. But I do expect it to happen.

My issue, like many of you, is that FSU is undefeated for 2 years straight and defending national champion. They are, however, not one of the 4 best teams in CFB.

What it should be:
1. FSU
2. Oregon
3. Alabama
4. TCU

What I think it should be:

1. Alabama
2. Oregon
3. OSU
4. TCU

ND fans should be rooting for a big 12 team to get in because we like them do not have a championship game.

I hope it's Bama vs FSU in Sugar and Oregon vs OSU in Rose just for Traditional reasons.

1) Bama
2) Oregon
3) FSU
4) Baylor

ANYONE TRYING TO ARGUE TCU>BAYLOR LOOK AT THE BOX SCORE. BAYLOR WON AND OUT-GAINED THEM BY 297 YARDS.

I can't take any argument for TCU seriously. Baylor shot themselves in the foot repeatedly that game and was still able to go on a 24-0 run to end the game. You're telling me a Top-4 team should get out-scored by 24 points in the final 12 mins? It's crazy.

Also, no OSU just cause Big12>B1G this season.

Such a oversimplification. They played at Baylor. A three point loss on the road is basically a tie. TCU lost to a much better Baylor team than the West Virginia team that beat Baylor. If Baylor had won at TCU I'd be more inclined to favor Baylor, but they didn't and based on everything else TCU looks better.

An oversimplification would be ignoring the fact that Baylor out-gained TCU by 297 yards. And went on a 24-0 run in the final 12 minutes to win the game. What Top-4 team lets up 24 in the final 12?

I agree with ESPN's Matt Schick . . .

I agree with ESPN's Matt Schick . . .

and his comment that the Committee might have gotten "a little too cute last week, by putting TCU at No. 3, and that they have now painted themselves into a corner, as a result of it."

basically, if they are going to now drop TCU below OSU, then they MUST also drop FSU below BOTH OSU and TCU, because they just said last week that they thought TCU was better than FSU, and nothing really happened yesterday, that SHOULD change that view.

so, by logic, FSU would have to be the team on the outs. again, all because the Committee was too cute last week, by putting TCU over FSU.

but, most likely, the Committee will end up putting both FSU and OSU in, which makes no sense, as it relates to TCU vs FSU.

their ONLY justification will be if they now say they discounted BOTH TCU and Baylor, as a result of Oklahoma losing to Oklahoma State.

but if that is your argument, then what about Northwestern beating Wisconsin, and how that relates to Ohio State's win over Wisconsin yesterday?

and I especially like Schick's other comment that, if they now put TCU at No. 5, then why are we even having these weekly votes? they have zero meaning.

P.S. This may also be a situation where the Committee throws in the "key injuries" argument, I.e., that OSU had a key injury (i.e., Braxton Miller) in its loss to Va Tech. But if that is their argument, why wait until now, to make it?

PPS. Even Joey Galloway (Ohio State grad) is making this exact same point re TCU right now, on ESPN.

What I want/who I think the best 4 are:
1. Bama
2. Oregon
3. TCU
4. Baylor

2. Oregon
3. FSU
4. OSU

What it should be:

I agree with this 100%. If FSU somehow gets left out that would be the biggest sham of all-time. I obviously have no love for FSU but it's ridiculous that they aren't #1, and would be crazy to leave them out. I think the easy way to look at the remaining 3 is this:

Baylor: Best Win, 2nd "Best" loss
TCU: Worst Win, Best Loss
OSU: 2nd Best Win, Worst Loss (by far).

Baylor deserves to be in. I would bet a lot of money that OSU gets in due to the $$$ implications. They will pretend like its because they looked great this week but that's nonsense as it should be about the resume.

This whole process is a sham and no better than the BCS. Any process that can drop a team from #3 to out of the top 4 after it wins 55-3 has no merit. I saw arguments on ESPN that they will take OSU so they don't have to deal with the TCU/Baylor Debate. That's like taking the least talented kid on your little league team to prevent two other parents from arguing.

I agree the whole system is a sham. I'll also say that I really despise OSU. However, I think OSU should be the fourth team. Beating up on the #17 Badgers in the way they did last night with a third string QB was pretty impressive...regretfully. I haven't been sold on TCU as much as everyone else and beating Iowa St (0-9 in Big Ten) doesn't help their case in my oppinion. Should go to 8 teams next year and bring back the computers as I'm going to throw up the next time i hear "eye-test" and "committee".

Baylor's about to get the shaft and I feel for them. They are a better team than OSU and have a better win than them and they have the head to head win vs TCU. There is no logical explanation for them getting left out. I get tired of the "oh well they might have beat TCU but TCU is better," then why the f**k do we even play the games? Why even bother playing games if we're just going to do the "eye test" and pick the prettiest teams?

Briles has won a lot of respect from me for calling out his league commissioner and the CFP committee. I really hope Baylor gets in.

Hypothetical Situation if it weren't Baylor or TCU this year and if it was either Oklahoma or Texas I believe one of them would get in over OSU. OSU is a bigger draw than either Baylor or TCU.

The only downside to Baylor is the ooc games. TCU got lucky Minn is a decent team this year, bit out of the three teams being discussed it seems like TCU has the best ooc win. I feel like giving Baylor the nod ignores their shitty schedule in sept and that should not be rewarded.

It was Oklahoma and Texas then FSU might get left out too. I've gotten the feeling the committee's wanted to drop FSU the whole way but it's just too hard to drop an undefeated power 5 champion.

How I'd vote

FSU
Oregon
Bama
Ohio St

How I think they will vote

1. Bama
2. Oregon
3. FSU
4. OSU

What it should be by what they did this year:

1. FSU
2. Bama
3. Oregon
4. Baylor

How they'd finish in a six team playoff on neutral fields:

1. Bama
2. Oregon
3. Ohio St
4. TCU
5. Baylor
6. FSU

If it were a more appropriate 8 team tourney this year:

1. Bama
2. Oregon
3. Ohio St
4. TCU
5. Baylor
6. Miss St
7. Mich St
8. FSU
