Tranquil and James O are the two most vocal on the defense. Drew is running with the 1st team and looking better everyday

nyles---much more vocal and was given a bunch of different looks and was able to make the correct calls each time

folston-looks stronger than ever

finke-due to cj's injury is getting a lot of work in slot...extremely elusive and quick out of breaks...will be a return guy

Nelson battled w/ tillery in 1:1's.....both extremely competitive reps for both

holmes-continues to impress

crawford- playing nickle and getting back to full health

tillery's move to 3tech has had up and downs

bonner-will be a factor on the dline rotation...gilmore w/ a bunch of praise of him

KK-working on 3rd team as DE--looking good though

cage-has been one of the best so far this spring in terms of lineman

crob-still out w/ concussion

I am really worried about CRob's concussion. I hope that he returns, but only if he feels comfortable. That kid has too bright a future to risk anymore head trauma.

DT recruit Greg Rodgers singled out Cage and said that he expects him to be really good this year. He saw a practice where Cage looked really good. Pretty important piece to the following season is Cage playing everydown and doing so at a high level.

Could a breakout year for Cage swing his brother into our corner? Or is it understood that he is a 100% lock for OSU?

Smart move on his part. I hope everything goes well for him. He will make a smart decision either way. I just hope he is okay.

will meet with a specialist next week to “make sure we’re covering all the bases with him.”

“He's had a couple concussions [in his career],” Kelly said. “Obviously we want to do everything that we can to get him all the information necessary so we don't put him in a position where he doesn't feel comfortable getting back on the field. We'll do that next week and we'll have him in a better position relative to making a decision when we get back on the field.”

I could be mistaken but didn't Prister make an offhand comment last podcast that we might not even want Jerron Cage even if he wasn't committed to OSU? If so, why would that be the case?

don't listen to him, so i wouldn't know .....this was a while ago just stating that w/ his brother being here even though he is committed to osu he wasn't shutting it down completely and had been listening to coaches at ND...

Yeah, he said 'I'm not sure how hard ND is pushing here'. And I don't buy that, they should really want younger Cage. If they don't push for him, it's likely because he's too committed to OSU rather than we don't think he's good enough IMO.

ND's MO has been constant contact...if the guy pops to another place they continue to hang in there and then circle the wagon later....like is the plan w/ haskell....as did w/ khalid, hayes etc there is more if i wanted to really think about it...

Wouldn't be surprised if C Rob hangs it up after seeing a specialist. If he wanted to be done before this season started anyway this will give him a fairly easy out if he wants to focus on school and other things.

Was thinking the same thing soon as I heard he was still out. Guy's got too much else going for him to mess around with brain injuries just for one more year of college football.

If this happens then I think the starting receivers are Hunter, ESB, and Holmes with Sanders coming in on obvious passing situations

You're wrong in not buying it. There's more than meets the eye here. Sometimes players just aren't good fits, regardless of ability. ND has stopped recruiting lots of great HS players, and it is not because they are "not good enough".

I take that as the two brothers have different personalities.

I'm still very pleased Cage was a late addition to the '14 class.
