Wouldn't be surprised to see them grab a QB in the second and hope no one's made a run on RBs before they pick again in the 3rd. I don't like Hackenburg's game, but I could see a team like the Cowboys talking themselves into him at the top of the second.

I've seen this as well and I'd be fairly disappointed, unless Connor Cook falls that far. I don't want to have anything to do with Christian Hackenburg and there will still be some very good players at that point.

LOL I forgot Cleveland had two picks last year... this is now the fourth time the Browns have had 2 first round picks in the last five years... 4 out of the last 5 guys... and they have really nothing to show for it.

of those previous 7 picks (including the one year they only had a single first rounder) they have:

5 complete busts and two players (Shelton and Erving) that had rookie years a season ago that certainly looked like busts...

that'd be 7 out of 7... yikes.

I don't understand how anyone can be that bad at the process... hit on half of these guys, just out of sheer luck, and your team is TOTALLY different today.

Hard to imagine a team having two first round picks in five out of six consecutive drafts... But barring a trade the Browns will have exactly that next season.... What could have been

I think Mingo can still be successful if he's utilized properly. He's also added like 20 lbs of muscle this offseason so that should help too.

We essentially have it this season as well. I don't think there is any chance we don't trade 32 though. We will be sitting all night with people calling wanting to move up.

If they don't get an impact D Linemen with 8, and there is someone like, say, Robert Nkemdiche, or Kevin Dodd sitting there at 32, they'd better make that pick.

Man I'm watching all these shows and reading all these mocks... It's almost a certainty that at least one of the following will be there at 8:

Stanley
Tunsil
Buckner
Bosa
Ramsey

If they pass on any on those for a project spread QB who all certainly never be their starter... I'll shit... I mean please name me a project spread QB in college that actually worked? Kap?

Some would say Mariota. What kinda system was Dalton in? Alex Smith maybe. Cam? Depends on how you view Tannehill maybe?

I honestly wouldn't take any of the QB's in this class over any of those guys. If Cleveland fucks this up, it might be time to jump ship, buddy. That would be the last straw with me. They've put you through too much.

Come over to the dark side. My Bears will still disappoint you every draft day, but at least they win once in a while.

They don't disappoint EVERY draft day. They drafted a safety once. He was too big to play the position though...

I know you hate the Kevin White pick, but I really hope you eat your words next year.

Cam and Mariota weren't projects though... Meaning guys who you know can't start day 1... Dalton maybe, did he walk right in? I don't remember. Point is, the vast majority, by a lot, fail.

I don't bail on my teams... Never have, never will... I took up the Chargers when Cleveland left so they're a 1-A of sorts... I root for ND guys so I enjoyed the Giants run with Tuck... But I'll be a Browns fan til I die, period.

Always liked/respected the Bears tho...

Assuming you're not old enough to remember the good old ND days, having a sports life of 3 teams and those teams being the Chargers, Browns, and ND, woof. That's rough!

Well if you mean can't start day 1, then I don't know if I have an answer. There was a lot of talk about Mariota being more of a "project" because the Oregon system was nothing like the system he would command in the NFL, and we could even see a few times last year where he played under a limited playbook. I wasn't following the draft nearly as much in 2011 as I am now, but I thought I recalled Cam being taken in spite of his passing skills at that time. He was just such an athlete, had the arm, and the upside that Carolina felt forced to pick him. We can see to this day that he has problems with his footwork at times, though.

I literally became an ND guy in 89... CathVConvicts 2 sold me ( yeah the third and forever game) so I am old enough to have Rocket as my football hero, but not old enough to be there when he and the 88 team won a title....

But I have the 02 Angels and the 09 Pens so eh...

I agree with this minus Bosa. I don't think Bosa will be a superstar, I think he will be a solid starter at best. Plus he doesn't fit the system we are going to be running.

although a die hard football Giant fan, i've always sorta pulled for the Browns.
would always say "they're my afc team"...

loved the days of Sipe and even Bernie had some moments. I also won a TON of games betting them as "home dogs" (no pun) in the 80s and 90s.

they seemed to cover the spread at home all the time back then.

may have even won with them as a slight favorite too.

good times...

I'm of that mindset too on Bosa, but I'd take him in a heartbeat over Lynch.

Thanks! Not yet, that Bernie painting was actually the first Browns piece i've done. Well other than the Manzielf tshirts........we all make mistakes.

If you're a team that feels optimistic about Jaylon's chance at recovery and you know several teams feel the same way, you know you won't be able to wait for three rounds to take him. These types of rumors are great for Jaylon's stock, keep em coming.

I think someone will gamble on him, the same way teams gamble on marginal QBs. All it takes is one team to take the risk. I imagine that a GM with job security is going to pull the trigger in round 3.
