Hackenberg sucks -- I regrettably watch almost every PSU game and went to several last year. Hack got hurt in the bowl game and the team played better with Trace McSorley in at QB. Hack is simply bad at football.

Anyway, back to Jaylon. Can someone tell me where his injury lies on the spectrum from routine torn ACL to Marcus Lattimore's leg falling off? The injury didn't look awful on TV, and he is already running around and posting workout videos, so part of me doesn't get what the huge risk is even if he still has to miss extended time.
Ligaments are generally easy to repair. The question with Jaylon is when/if his nerve will fully heal. I don't quite know how to put it on the spectrum that you listed but the nerve is the major issue and the fact that his nerve was injured makes it significantly worse than a standard ACL but not as bad as Lattimore's injury.
The risk is that nerve injuries can be slow to heal and sometimes people never quite come back from them.
