Stoops was gushing about this kid during Big12 media days. Said he'd have a good chance to start.

How'd they catch him?

But seriously a really dumb mistake but does seem odd he's dismissed when DGBs offenses are worse

That last statement is debatable. DGB just has more offenses. But blatantly busting a chick's face is pretty damn bad.

When he was on Cowherd the other day they were circle jerking each other over him. It was borderline creepy.

This made me think, wasn't Trey Metoyer kicked off the team and out of OU for jerking off in the bushes or in his car or something like that?

I guess the difference between Mixon and DGB is the girl in the DGB case decided not to press charges. I wonder if the girl in the Mixon case will have a similar change of heart, and Mixon will remain on the team? Maybe there are too many witnesses as well to prevent OU from trying to sweep it under the rug? DGB still has a leg up on Mixon though, as DGB was busted with 1lb. of weed prior to his physical altercation with the girl.

Charges or no, DGB was tossed by Missouri. This despite being the highest-profile recruit - and one of the most talented players - in the history of the program.
He's at OU in the name of "a second chance." Someone will probably give Mixon "a second chance," too. The only thing preventing that would be if this somehow lands him a felony conviction, but I'd guess that's unlikely.

Feel bad for the kid but if he's dismissed, Soso could be put back on their radar.

BGB said he liked the way Mixon hit the "ho", "whole" or something like that.

LOL

You know that's going to happen. The question is, will it be OU or someone else?

Straight player trade between two "temporary thug holding" companies --- Mizzou<-->Oklahoma --- doubtless with players to be named later.

Breaking a girl's face is almost unforgivable --- I really have to get my fiction hat on to create an excuse which approaches reasonable cause. {in a "man".}

But the utterly disgusting hypocrisy is listening to coaches continuing to downplay these things as if they really cared about "the kid." [fans downplaying it are almost as disgusting.]

In a letter to Rice, Goodell stated:

“As you acknowledged during our meeting, your conduct was unquestionably inconsistent with league polices and the standard of behavior required of everyone who is part of the NFL. The league is an entity that depends on integrity and in the confidence of the public and we simply cannot tolerate conduct that endangers others or reflects negatively on our game. This is particularly true with respect to domestic violence and other forms of violence against women.

“You will be expected to continue to take advantage of the counseling and other professional services you identified during our meeting. As you noted, this additional assistance has been of significant benefit to you and your wife, and it should remain a part of your practice as appropriate.

I believe that you are sincere in your desire to learn from this matter and move forward toward a healthy relationship and successful career. I am now focused on your actions and expect you to demonstrate by those actions that you are prepared to fulfill those expectations.”

Goodell is a fraud and a charlatan. I'm about to just abandon the NFL altogether.

If it wasn't for wanting to see ND guys succeed in the pros, I might. (Although The Raiders are a mighty tough addiction to kick.)

This past Friday morning Joe Mixon found himself in a situation where he was subjected to both verbal and physical attacks from a very intoxicated and troubled young woman. As a result of these physical attacks, Joe instinctually defended himself against further harm.

As promised, Joe met with investigators from the Norman Police Department this afternoon. Throughout the meeting, Joe continued to be forthcoming and cooperative with their investigation.

We are looking forward to a thorough investigation and are very much looking forward to the truth coming out. As we have always maintained, Joe has done nothing wrong.

I mean, he's trying to stay out of jail at this point. Go to go all in on your story/innocence. But seriously... fucking laughable. Broke her face in 4 places == nothing wrong? Yeah, OK.

Quick question, would the reaction be different if it was a drunk male insulting and getting physical with a woman who then proceeded to punch him so hard she broke his jaw?

I say yes. And I just had this hypothetical debate with someone yesterday lol... girl was a feminist and saying that "man hitting a woman" should not be considered any different than "human hitting a human" by society. Was interesting.
