Are we talking about the pitch option? I hate the pitch option.
I don't think so because like I said, Zaire has the whole play book too. He can run the option or take a shotgun snap.
I know - But regardless of past injury, I think you only run the option with 1 (doesn't matter which) because you don't want to expose both. Since Zaire is the best option QB, it'd be him.
Is there any evidence of this? Kizer has done fine with nearly all aspects of the running game. There's nothing Zaire can do that he can't do better

Not this again, lol. I don't have evidence, but I strongly believe Zaire would run the option better than Kizer. He stays lower to the ground, is faster, and likely stronger.
If you play both, then you run both otherwise the defense is looking for it. If you lose a QB then whoever is left backs off running very much.
The question with Weishar was always if he could maintain athleticism while adding enough weight... the ideas being expressed by a certain poster are equal parts ridiculous, uninformed, and trollish. That is all.
Also, some rumors we picked up another significant injury today to someone who could've been a significant contributor... will have to wait for confirmation.
Did I miss this being confirmed or are we still waiting. Sorry, trying to catch up...
Nah, all good, it was false alarm.
To me, it's not so much about the defense looking for it. It's causing them to spend half of the week working on option responsibilities rather than 100% dedication to stopping our normal offense.
This is a relief. Though I preemptively drank all that whiskey for nothing apparently.Nah, all good, it was false alarm.

You tell Zaire he's just going to be a part-time, gadget offense guy then he ain't gonna be happy. The QB battle is gonna run, there's no time to install option stuff like that. Anyways with the line ND has they should be able to pound it inside, option stuff is for when you can't block people straight up.

Just simply not true.......in HS, we ran power, power I, split back, and we ran option out of our I formation. The reason you run option isn't because you cannot block straight up, (the Naval Academy notwithstanding), but you run option during the game to sometimes just add more stress to the defense. You're gonna have teams like Navy do it out of necessity, however, if you can run power, then throw in the option, it gives you a greater chance for a big play.
All the bullshit talk about a special package for Zaire and him being the black Tebow is ridiculous at best. That's an insult to Zaire. Dude can sling it. Let's not act like he can't.

Kizer can run an option too though.
Heck, let's run a double QB set, and have both QB's lined up in the backfield and direct snap to either one. we could run, pass or option out of that formation.
CRAZINESS

I strongly approve this message.I have not heard or read anywhere that Kizer does not have the whole playbook. Everyone that keeps saying Zaire should be brought in mentions he "has the whole playbook". I believe they both have the whole playbook and the staff is creating specific plays for each out of it but the whole playbook is at both of their disposal.
Also, Kizer's longest runs from scrimmage are 79 and 48 where Zaire's are 56 and 39. While Kizer has had more attempts, he also has a higher scoring average as a runner with 7.5% of his runs going for a TD compared to 4% of Malik's runs were for a TD. The point I am trying to make is that both of these QBs are dual threat QBs that can run. One may be better at the pass and the other better at the read option but both of them can tuck it and run when the play breaks down and make something happen with their feet. Lets not act like Zaire is a far superior rusher compared to Kizer.
Im of the opinion that Zaire becomes basically a running back when he takes off. DK seems like he is an athletic QB when he is running. These are two different things.
I'm biased.
Was it the false alarm Dexter Williams? I read that he went down on his shoulder pretty hard at the end of practice but the fall looked worse than it actually was.
