You mean Collinsworth? When they show the names at the beginning is how I figured it out ;)

In the spirit of boredum at work, if you could pick one of the 2014 class signees to play tomorrow, not counting EEs, who would you want to see?

I'd love to see Nyles suit up, although a close second is Jay Hayes. Hayes has some freakish athleticism for his size, IMO.

Nyles Morgan hands down, the MLB job is crying out for him to take it

Yeah, pretty boring QU now that I think about it. Although I think Hayes will play this year. Another that came to mind is Corey Holmes and Kolin Hill, but it's Nyles, no doubt.

Brent and Trumbetti. Both could really make an impact next year and I'm excited to see what they look like out there.

I hope Nyles has a great year but I expect some growing pains from him this year. His position is tough to learn.

I hope we run some sweeps/screens with Brent. Even as a true freshman, he seems stronger than 90% of WRs.

Sykes. I want to see his tenacity at the collegiate level and see if it carries over. His motor gets me going.

Nyles is the obvious answer. Wouldn't mind seeing Quentin Nelson. I'd like to see the O-Line continue it's consistency and be more aggressive at the point of attack. He looks like a nasty bruiser that could set the tone for the line over the next four years.

Token white guy.

Not enough white people at ND. This proves there is diversity. Excellent job by ND!

Blankenship. If he gets up to 270 like he said he's on track for or going to get to. I don't see anyway he doesn't get some good reps. Kids a stud.

Same.

But, Trumbetti is really the young'un I want to see in game action. I'm probably expecting too much out of him.

Yea, because he's an EE I'm expecting him to be on the field and somewhat productive. My choice was somebody that people may not be thinking about.

Elijah Hood.

You'll get to see him in week 8, no worries. Would have been fun watching Mckenzie return punts as well.

Nelson for me...think he'll be a monster. I'm also interested to see where Luatua fits in the mix. Newsome too, need a good kicker to replace Brindza the year after next.

Morgan or Brent. Although wasn't it quoted that Brent was having a hard time grasping the playbook?

Yea as of now it sounds like an pretty big uphill battle for him to see meaningful PT. Add onto that we have a really deep WR group in front of him. Could be a slower year for him than expected. However, he'll have quite a few months to learn the playbook and run routes on his own.

Do you think he might "RS"? Or rather, would it be wise to RS him?

physically he wouldn't need to redshirt...but because he isn't at a position of need and is "drowning in info" and with young guys already established he would DEF redshirt unless they want to burn it for special teams

I'm with Pandfan here. If we weren't in pretty good shape at WR, physically he's ready and we just let him learn on the fly. Since we don't need to do that I would like to see him RS. With that said Kelly has shown a propensity to not RS some prospects that should. Right now I'll say 50/50 that he does or doesn't. If it sounds like a cop out, thats because it is. haha. I'm really unsure.

-Actually I'd say it'd be wise to RS him.

I'm generally for redshirting just about anyone that won't be a significant contributor by at least the 3rd week of the season. If the kid is willing, it's almost always to our benefit to do so, even if they don't end up staying for a 5th year.

This. personally i think this kid and hayes, plus Trum already on campus are really going to boost the DL. might not be till second half of year but that's when you really need that two deep.

Literally! When he couldn't catch that book, he drown under it.

Don't sleep on Williams. That kid looks huge, just a growing boy, and he is fast off the edge two.

And Bonner. I want to see how he can jump in and whether he can push around experienced players like he could push around top recruits.

I would bet that both Bonner and Williams redshirt, and I hope they do.

Another guy I just thought of, Watkins. Depth is fairly deep at DB, but if the staff says he could be the next KeiVarae, then he could see PT sooner than later. Just wish we had more EEs this cycle.

Just checking this thread, it appears anyone could redshirt and anyone could be a primetime contributor this year. Good to know :)
