So is Joey Brooks going to end up on schollie?

Robinson's legs look super skinny, then again he is like eight feet tall. I like hearing that he catches EVERYTHING, hard to teach that.

I hope McDaniel gets some quality reps this year, he is a hard nosed MFer and I like how he brings it.

I'm guessing we have a few sub-4.5 forty guys on the team, which is infinitely more than we lost to graduation. Off top of my head I would suspect Russell, GAIII and his bro, Brown and Shumate are in that spectrum with a number of up and comers sniffing at it as well.

BJax is one of the fastest. Farley is not slow.

My guess would be yes. Now that there are openings there really is no reason not to. He has one year of eligbility so he falls off the books after this next season anyways.

How many years does Joe Schmidt have left? If there is an open one his senior year I can definitely see him getting one

I wonder if the punter transfer from Wake Forest will get one since it would be open again after this year.

Nice link. I blanked on bjax, good call there too. Jaylon Smith also listed sub 4.5 whatever that is worth. Ben Councell also has big rumors of sub 4.5 speed, which is kind of scary if you consider he is something like 6'5" 240lbs.

Point being, lots more speed on the team today than two - three years ago, and not in a bunch of Allen Rossem sized players.

Ben isn't even close to 6'5''...Right?

He's not sub 4.5, either. A 6'5", 240lb-er who runs sub 4.5 would be wrecking people.

Man, it just dawned on me. How weird is it going to be to watch defense without Manti? I hate it.

I'm going to say this again...But Mike Huerman is going to be a stud as a detached from the line tightend.

Schmidt will be a junior in the fall. Don't see him getting a schollie this year, but yeah, maybe next year if there is one open.

If there are two open, Connor Cavalaris might get one. He's another walk on who has made the special teams.

And Tyler Plantz has gotten on the field on special teams too, I believe. He will be a senior in the fall, so he's gotta be a candidate to get one of the open schollies. I would think that Brooks and the punter from Wake are ahead of him though.

I think it's hard to have faith in a guy we haven't really seen yet...

True, but Kelly has seen him in practice, and he sure has a lot of faith in him. He was asked about MIKE LB by the press yesterday and he specifically said how excited he is about that position. (Pretty shocking to say when you are losing the best player you've ever had at that position, right??) Then he went on to wax panegyric about Grace. Kelly's excitement gets me excited.

Jaylon is not a sub 4.5 guy, but he is very fast! 4.55 range every time he runs one...which is explosive considering our starting safety last year ran a 4.7. Also packing on the pounds every time i see him. Looks like a monster.

Talking team speed and didn't mention CB? That kid is lightning in a bottle and probably the fastest on the team! He's up to 195 and working hard on perfecting his route running. Kid will make tons of plays for us this season!

I agree though...it's great seeing all this young speed!

He was mentioned along with the Atkinsons and others in RDU's first post

Too darn many to count!

Jaylon and Councell's threads list sub-4.5 forties. I said "for what its worth" because there is absolutely no consistency to what is posted in those places.

I would think Carlisle might be there or there about as well? What about Davaris Daniels? Last year BK said he was putting up NFL type workout numbers, could he be sub 4.5? In terms of incoming recruits Folston, Fuller, Hunter and Kinlaw are all guys who I think could be in that ball park as well.
