NO, I am hoping that Gunner red shirts this year. I, for one, am hoping that Gholson is the starter. If not, I would lean toward Hendrix. They are 1A and 1B, IMO. It's pretty funny that you are coming on here trying to "rub it in" for your favorite school getting a player that ND wanted. I understand, its a big deal to you. It's not very often that ND and houston cross paths on the recruiting trail. It was frustrating yesterday, I will be the first to admit that. Not just losing a student/athlete, but losing one to houston! I mean really, thats embarrassing. houston is the poster boy for the underdog because of their irrevelance. Think about it, before last season, most people couldn't tell you if houston was DI, DIAA, or DII. Now, you guys got a potentially good player, one that ND wanted. It is HUGE for houston, and you since you feel the need to come on here. While it was frustrating to Irish fans yesterday, by now, most have gotten over it (other than the thought of a student going to houston. I, for one, want to take a bath after the thought because I feel dirty). You want to wager that ND will continually bring in players of his caliber, and better, on a yearly basis. Its not a once and a blue moon thing for ND to have a 4 or 5 * player. This years class, for example; by looking at all four major recruiting services, 14 of the 16 signees were rated 4 * or better by at least one service. It will be nothing more that a pimple on our a$$es, aggrivating for a moment, then its gone. I guess, by bieng the least important DI program in the state, and neck and neck with Texas A&M Kingsville for a fan base, you guys had an awesome day. I congratulate you, as would most posters on this site, but what are you really hoping to accomplish by coming on here? Do you think this will happen again in your life time? If you do, I suggest you take those Rose colored glasses off before you drive.

You were undefeated and controlled your own destiny to make a BCS game and you lost in the only meaningful game you had all year. For someone who doesn't care I seem to be posting plenty.... I still don't care.

It finally hit me what struck me so funny about Houston. Anyone remember the Seinfeld episode where Kramer is taking the karate class with the kids, he's just kicking their butt. Deontay, who is a legitimate 4-5 star player, is going to remind me of Kramer racking up yardage against that kid's schedule.

Every time I hear Houston (not very often) I'm going to be gut chuckling thinking about Kramer. LOL

Kak7304: A bunch of pages back, you commented that maybe ND could recruit a full load next year. Actually, I only see about 20 spots available:
9 spots from combined 5th year & walk-ons who might get a scholly.
7 seniors with one year of eligibility remaining.
4 spots estimated among seniors with 2 years eligibility remaining now, assuming Eifert & C Wood go NFL and J Golic & Stockton don't get a 5th year, and that Watt, Fox, Calabrese & Z Martin all get a 5th year.
Attrition due to injury, transfer, etc., could increase the number.

With 2013 appearing to be talent *****, maybe 16 is a good number for 2012.

If ND were an SEC school they could do like Alabammy and recruit 25 every year, knowing that half are going to flunk out or be run off, thereby leaving lots of spots available every year.

ND players stay all 4 years, so ND is always faced with limited openings.
