Reports are now stating that Tee Martin is staying put at USC. Nothing official yet, but Vol fans are not going to be happy about this.

Yea they might jump off a cliff. Whiffed on their top HC choices and can't even get their former QB to come back to coach, let alone he is staying to work for the guy that royally screwed his alma mater.

@TNSportsRadio: Breaking: Tee Martin has declined the Tennessee Job.

Eddie Gran is leaving FSU (RB coach). This will definitely impact them with Alex Collins. One can only dream that it somehow impacts Ryan Green...

FSU buddy that is staying with me for the month for a rotation is LIVID about this. Gran is their best recruiter, and a huge loss from their staff.

I'll keep an eye on their 247board and let you all know if there is any movement with Green. Besides Smoke Mizzel he is the slot/rb I wanted in this class.

From what I could read last night, looks like the fans are blaming his wife.

Interesting comments from 5-Star RB Alex Collins on the #FSU coaching news - 2013 5-star RB Alex Collins comments on Eddie Gran's departure

Sounds like Collins is basically stalling for time. Shocked about the exit of Gran. He will make his decision after visiting the other two big FL schools. He was leaning FSU pretty hard before this.

John Franklin (unranked ATH teammate of collins, committed to the Noles) sounds pretty solid fwiw. But then again he really has no other top tier offers. Hmm I wonder why he got a committable from FSU?!?

Also of note, Vader doesn't think this will effect Ryan's decision (surprise surprise) but Ryan doesn't know about the coaching move yet. It will be interesting to see how he reacts to the news.

Yearby hasn't said anything yet.

Sony actually came out and said that it basically didn't change anything and coaches come and go. FSU still at the top for him.

What is it with UT fans and wives? Tee Martin's wife this, Gruden's wife that, Kiffen's wife blah blah blah.

Is Tennessee some sort of Amazonian distopia? N.O. M.A.A.M.

They mentioned she was a singer that had one top 100 hit years ago and she is still trying to break thru. Take it as you wish.

Seriosuly, you couldn't script this stuff. So, Tommy Tuberville was set to hire Bobby Petrino if Petrino did not get a head coaching gig. The same Petrino who left Auburn while OC for Tubs, then secretly met Auburn officials behind Tub's back to take his position. Wow.

So Tee Martin is staying at USC rather than going back to Tennessee with Butch Jones to help turn his alma mater around....is there any chance that Kiffin doesn't have dirt on Martin and leveraged it to keep him in L.A.? Even Martin's quotes about wanting to stay at USC sound like they were written for him in much the same way that terrorists write their hostages' statements.

I can't believe that a guy wanted to stay on Captain Kiffin's clearly sinking ship rather than go somewhere that he will likely get at least 3 more years of employment at UT even if it goes poorly. Then you add in that its an opportunity to work for Butch Jones, who seems like a genuinely likable guy, as opposed to working for whatever the opposite of a genuinely likable guy is. PLUS, its his alma mater, AND the failing unlikable guy who he is staying with completely screwed his beloved alma mater and is more reviled by UT fans than by anyone else (which is really saying something). Not to mention, you can probably envision Lane Kiffin blackmailing his own assistant coach as easily as anyone except maybe Urban Meyer.

I'm not usually much of a conspiracy theorist, but in light of the all of the foregoing I am having a really hard time believing that Tee Martin wasn't blackmailed into staying with the Trojans.

It's the wife. Wanted to stay in L.A. because she's holding out hope she'll be able to reignite her singing career.

Staying with Kiffin is a risk. The guy may be fired after next season if he doesn't pull out a good year. Granted going to any SEC is a risk with their crazy unrealistic fan bases but you figure Butch Jones gets at least 3 years.

Haha....yeah I'm pretty sure that couple's best bet for the future is the husband's football coaching career. And it's not like Tennessee is totally off the music industry's map.

Who last longer Butch Jones at Tennessee or Lane Kiffin at USC?

Butch Jones for sure. I actually think that he will do really well at Tennessee.

Kiffin on the other hand.... well, I just hope they hold on to him as long as possible so we can continue beating them. Most likely though, I bet he has another meh year and gets canned.

To be fair, he did just move his family across the country to go to USC. So, you never know what family agreements were made.

That being said, I am sure his wife could revive her career in Knoxville with live performances at Rumorz (formally Bar Knoxville). It's one of those classy joints.

I spent my entire senior year in that bar! hahaha it may not be nice but you can't beat Free Beer Fridays! (You pay a dollar to get inside on Friday and you get a plastic cup. You drink Bud Light or Coors until the kegs behind the bar are tapped.) God I miss undergrad, go get drunk at Rumorz for free early and once the underclassmen show up around 10:30 go to a house party.... Good times.
