Excited about this news...even if it is the class of 2020. Am I correct that he dropped in his rankings for #74 OVA in September to #221 last month?

He is currently #220 OA on 247, not sure when that was changed. Rivals hasn't ranked players yet, but he has a 6.0 grade and in the 19' class, that would be no worse than #40 OA. So, he's either a solid 4 star talent or a borderline 5 star talent, depending on where you look. His offer list is what I'd look at. He has done a lot of camps as well, so he's had a lot of in-person evals.

for the record, his dad is 6'5...

For those of you who haven't followed this thread since the beginning, here's a pic of his dad from Pg. 1 with him standing next to P Manning. Maybe Drew has a growth spurt (or two) left to catch up with the rest of the men in the family?

So here's a 247 pic of Mom (assuming) and Dad walking in behind Drew. I'm no geneticist but that pic tells me he ain't gonna be 6-4 like Pops.

I'm not going to pretend to be a good film guy but I like his release.

Great stuff.
I haven't watched this guys film yet but when I do I know I am going to come back and say I like it as if that will add some weight to the recruitment.

So one of the articles mentioned how his dad was president of IMG for a while and his brother played at IMG Academy. I wonder if he and Kevin will follow suit and go there for a year or two. I would love to see what he could do playing with those athletes and playing against that defense every day wouldn't hurt. Same with Kevin and the d-line. I think it really helped Hainsey be able to play right away because he was used to facing elite defensive linemen.

Absolutely taking names.

Freebie from Adam Friedman / Rivals
DREW PYNE DOMINATES

In a group of quarterbacks that was probably the best on this year’s Rivals Camp Series, Drew Pyne was clearly the top player. Other quarterbacks had a few nice throws in a row and then a bad one or one that didn’t cut through the wind. Pyne didn’t throw a bad pass and his passes cut through the wind with ease, which was a little surprising considering he isn’t very big. His accuracy and mechanics were very impressive and his timing adjusted very quickly even though he wasn’t working with wide receiver he was used to.

Freebie from Josh Helmholdt / Rivals
QUARTERBACK MVP

Notre Dame landed its quarterback of the future earlier this month when Rivals100 class of 2020 Connecticut native Drew Pyne pledged to the Fighting Irish. Pyne did not disappear after that commitment, showing up to lead a deep group of passers who competed Sunday. The group included Penn State commit Ta’Quan Roberson, Florida commit Jalon Jones, Clemson commit Taisun Phommachanh and Boston College commit Stephen Lubischer. A healthy wind separated those quarterbacks whose football could cut through and those that could not. Pyne through pass after pass with velocity and accuracy to take home MVP honors.

His release is so fast and his release/footwork seem so advanced for his age. Other 2020 recruits are taking notice as well, including a 2020 WR that already holds a Notre Dame offer (Daniel Jackson). AJ Henning also retweeted it.
