So Daniels > McNamara right? I remember that at the start of recruiting this kid it was Daniels > the Field, but I'm not sure what the consensus is now

1. Fields
2. Daniels
3. Phil

Yourself....?

At ND:

Phil
Fields
Daniels

Style, Culture, Fit... Phil all day. Beano's upstairs taking bets at St. Peter's Pub.

Any school outside of ND, BC or Pitt... Fields.

In regards to Daniels, I don't like short QB's that can't run. Daniels might be the next Drew Brees, who knows. No doubt he's a great HS QB, I've seen it with me own eyes..

I thought we were just talking talent. You hit me with some "fit" additions late.

My bad. When I'm on here everything is Notrecentric unless otherwise stated.

As it should be. Maybe it's on me to apologize for not being Notrecentic enough in this situation.

Anyway, I understand your look on Daniels. Very few Brees-like success stories.

Fields is a monster.

Phil has a lot to prove this year. Healthy and experienced.

All Phil has to do in my eyes is do what he has done when he's healthy.

I'd really like to see him EE so he skips hoops this winter.

Read an article about the QB Collective camp and Daniels was quoted saying that he prefers to be in a pro-style offense...Stanford, Michigan, SC, & Bama...most likely in my mind

I guess he's trying to reclassify to the 2018 class. Loy hinted at it or tried too

I was wondering if he'd try this. When was the last time a kid did this and it worked out?

The only one that came to mind was John David Booty.

EDIT: Apparently Jake Bentley left high school one year early as well.

I'm pretty sure South Carolina's QB reclassified... he went from being a potential EE to enrolling a full year early. Skipped his senior year.

Jake Bentley

Kind of weird, though, because he's 20 years old... that means he would have been a 19-year-old senior in high school the last half of '16, had he stayed. Some states have rules that say kids over 18 can't play varsity sports, I think, so maybe that fueled his track to graduate early.

I'm pretty sure Daniels is a year older too, so he'd just be graduating at the same time

I believe Clausen was like this. Didn't he turn 21 as a sophomore at ND?

Dad pulled the old 8th grade twice trick to get his son physically mature enough for freshman year in the Trinity League. Mater Dei, Bosco and Santa Margarita all had upperclassmen QB's in '14... Lowray at Mater Dei (Mizzou) Rosen and Costello (Jr) at Bosco and SMC. Doing 8th grade twice opens up Mater Dei and Bosco for him to come in as a 9th grader and start right away.
