Pray, pray, pray for Coach Harry to work his arcane Magic and put out another excellent Notre Dame OLine.

If Super Sam has a lot of time on the average play, he WILL complete those plays --- that's proven absolutely already.
We won't have to have MikeMayer (or Golden Tate Jeff Samardzjia Michael Floyd), Sam with time will find who we have.
... and Please, please, please 3 (4?)-headed running monster: BLOCK THAT EXTRA RUSHER! You too TE!!

I have not for twenty(?) years seen an outlook for a monster Notre Dame offense with such easily imaginable parts at this stage of a pre-season. I'm 82, men, don't disappoint me. I want to sit back with 12+ bowls of popcorn and smile my way through this one.

I feel like the 2010 offense was pretty foreseeable but I may be misremembering.

Crossing my fingers with you Mike. Next year should be a great year offensively.

Who cares? A lot of fans didn't want him to begin with, and now he's gone. He bailed us out when our QB went down, they told him they were bringing in a transfer and he decided it would be better to play elsewhere. Seems good for all parties involved.

I would be interested to know if that is Air Yards, or just completions that went for over 20 yards (including YAC).
Regardless, never a band thing to be at the top of either category.
It's completions that are 20+ yards down field. No YAC.

I read one set of comparisons that listed Hartman as the 5th best (seriously considerable) NCAA QB for long passing ability this coming year. (The four ahead of him were Williams, Maye, Jackson State's guy, and LSUs guy.) Some of that could be the slightly longer look that he gets in that odd slow-mesh offense, but he still has to deliver the ball in the right places and have the smarts and courage to do so.

As an aside, this has already probably been mentioned, but the NFL scouts downgrade Sam because they don't like that slow-mesh offense as preparation. Hartman, almost surely, wants to demonstrate his NFL readiness by running an NFL style offense. Tommy is on the spot now to deliver an offense that Notre Dame likes and that Sam likes. Hopefully that's no problem for anyone.

If the WR and TE rooms take a nice step forward this year, the offense should be pretty exciting to watch develop (in a good way)!

This is virtually impossible with Meyer departing, though I get what you're saying. There is plenty of promising, young talent in the group, hopefully they can each find a niche and contribute. Mitchell Evans showed some promise in the Gator Bowl. Hopefully Raridon can stay healthy and get some playing time, he could have a really nice career here.

Well, other than opposing defenses. ;)
