For some reason he reminds me so much of Alex Anzalone
without the case of bitchitus
Welcome Bo!
Yes!! The first white guy linebacker comparison.
I'm saying the next description will be; coach's son or high motor.
I love the pickup. He's a really good prospect already, great program kid, and this allows us a lot of flexibility with LB recruiting in the 2018 class.
Congrats Bo!
To be fair, what class can you remember that was this stacked 18 months before NSD?
So early that it's not that relevant but it's fun for now. ND's 2018 class is now ranked #2 on 247.
Notre Dame landed one of the nation's top linebackers in the class of 2018 on Wednesday when Erie (Pa.) Cathedral four-star linebacker Matthew Bauer pledged to the Fighting Irish.

The 6-3, 215-pounder chose Notre Dame over Michigan State, Penn State, Virginia, Iowa State and others.
According to 247Sports national director of recruiting Barton Simmons, this is a huge pickup for the Irish and their No. 2 ranked class in 2018.
"I really think Matthew Bauer is one of the big-time defenders in the 2018 class," said Simmons. "He's got size and he plays with a great energy and temperament. As an inside linebacker, he takes good pursuit angles, accelerates through contact and likes the physical side of the game. I think this is what you want an inside linebacker to look like. I think he plays with the attitude you want out of your Mike backer as well. I love the pickup for Notre Dame."
As a sophomore, Bauer racked up over 100 tackles and 11 tackles for loss on the year.
Per 247Sports, Bauer is the No. 95 overall player in the country, No. 2 inside linebacker in the nation and No. 4 prospect in Pennsylvania from the class of 2018.
Gonna be funny when 247 inevitably drops him in the future for running a 4.9 at camp and how he looks in shorts.
If hes a 4.9 guy, he'll deservedly drop out of everyone's rankings.
Ummm... well... he did already... at the Army combine. He still made 247's All-Combine team. My point is that they're going to magically "discover" the flaw at some future point and drop him, much like they did with a half dozen Notre Dame guys I can name. Funniest has to be Brock Wright who they graded out excellently on film, then he didn't do combines and they got pissy, so they dropped him way down the rankings.... even though literally nothing has changed since when they initially rated him.

Any Chance Mr. Wright can play THIS YEAR????
