Where'd you see the info?
Damn. He's only a sophomore, and hasn't even finished his second summer camp. Plenty of time to grow, regardless of Hamilton's presence.
Wish he would've stuck it out for the year, but he's gotta make moves for his future as early as possible, I guess.
He should be playing a hybrid linebacker/box safety kind of role, but the most concerning thing I read was about him “not being physical enough”... I don’t expect him to run with Keys or Lenzy, but if he isn’t being physical I don’t know what his path to the field is.
It seems like he has a path to start in 2020 with Gilman and Elliot leaving after this year (I think). But at the same time, no one has really reported on him as flashing at any practice whereas Hamilton is 100% flashing. Good luck to him
Hopefully he finds the right situation at a good school like GT, UVa, Vandy, Duke or even Northwestern. Best of luck to him on and off the field.
Lax laid out the warning back in March. Derrick's skill set, style of play & genetics aren't forming the shape of peg that's needed to fit the holes at Stud/Rover Add to that the abundance of young talent at LB and S and there's no need to try and make it fit in Allen's case.
Super disappointed. One of my favorite recruits to watch from a very young age. Sometimes your body doesn't agree with your playing style. It will be interesting to go back and read this thread. From 5*ish CB early on to a guy ya knew was eventually gonna be a LB before he got to campus.

Yep, I thought he was the future. Unless the staff came out and told him that it's DJ Brown and Hamilton next year at S, I find this to be odd. He ran with the 2's yesterday, next to Hamilton. We play 2 S's. You're going to have competition anywhere you go, why not compete for another 1 year and earn that SS spot next to Hamilton. He'd have a chance to start for at least 2 years. Getting scared off by DJ Brown and Litchield Avajon is just bizarre to me.
Driskell adamant it's not about playing time
Maybe he farted a lot in team meetings and got super embarrassed?
So it could be homesickness. Or some other personal reason, maybe family related.
