No just surprising not to see him play. Pete Sampson did report that after the first practice at Culver he didn’t get any live reps and was visibly disappointed. Lea had to go console him.
He’s a smart enough kid with smart enough parents to see the opportunity in front of him. Plenty of players graduating soon. He’ll get his turn.
I didn't read it as trouble.
ND has to graduate some LB's and let current guys matriculate into future positions. Allen's a tweener right now and I've felt he'd be the Rover and Simon the Buck since the get go. Their time will come.
The wildcard is going to be if Hamilton can stay at FS. I sure hope he can.

Bigger pretty boy...
Jimmy or Trevor?
As far as safeties go, I have stopped being surprised when kids we've written off as freshman emerge as juniors or even seniors--or when the all-everything recruit struggles as a freshman. It happens over, and over, and over.
There is just so much going on in space, and its happening so much faster than it was in high school, it's just a big time mental adjustment.
Absolutely. Raw athletic talent allows these 4 star players to dominate without focusing on the details. Now they are a part of a system and if they miss their assignment, the other team can take it to the house.
Anyone hearing anything about him in spring practice?
Nothing good. He's getting some reps with a couple guys sitting our and/or missing due to a class. But he hasn't been that impressive, to put it bluntly.
Disclaimer: Not being combative, but can you let me know where you read any negative reviews? This is disappointing to hear and I'd be interested in reading.
I really, really don't want DA to become Max Red. 2.0. He balled out at most of his camps and it would be disappointing for him to not pan out after hitting campus.
He should be playing a hybrid linebacker/box safety kind of role, but the most concerning thing I read was about him “not being physical enough”... I don’t expect him to run with Keys or Lenzy, but if he isn’t being physical I don’t know what his path to the field is.
Transferring.
