Everyone else plays the game but us. Michigan, Baylor, Kentucky, Georgia... everyone else understands how to butter up a sibling/parent/coach/friend.

This is a game I don't want any part in. If kids can't see through that and pick a school for that reason then I don't want them. We already have enough kids that don't fit culturally and can't cut it academically and have to transfer/get suspended. Last thing I want is some kid coming to ND because we hired his high school head coach.

Yea, if following your Head Coach is that big of a priority, which I don't think it is here, so I'm not worried; then you shouldn't be at ND.

I really don't want to lose this kid. In my opinion, it's VERY IMPORTANT to land a QB every cycle. We're one injury away from being in a very tough situation.

On principle, sure. But given these two hypothetical scenarios:
1. We admit Robert Beal's sister to ND and give her a full ride, Robert Beal signs with ND.
2. We don't admit Beal's sister to ND, Beal signs elsewhere.

Would you really choose door 2?

Depends heavily on her merit as an athlete / scholar.

Any reason for concern other than the offer and his High school coach?

ND Fan that didn't go to ND votes number one.
ND Fan that did go to ND votes for number two.

I was commenting more on the hiring of a head coach. The sister hypothetical is different and I would be in favor of #2. A lot of players don't want to go to ND because it is far from home and having a sister there is a valid reason to pick one school over another. The head coach example is different though.

Man if he picks Baylor over ND with the current situation because of a high school coach, then I have a ton of oceanfront land to sell him here in Birmingham.

Why would he go there, isn't Malik going there? Or was that LSU now that Canada is there from Pitt?

5th ranked QB at UA game below Tommy Devito

There is a pretty sizeable drop off between 4 and 5 as Davis obviously isn’t tall and has struggled with his field vision a bit. He has thrown some nice passes, mostly intermediate but also a couple downfield, but he has thrown a few bad interceptions — one into traffic and another right to a linebacker. Davis’ strength at the next level is his ability to run and get outside the pocket while being creative and keeping defenses on their toes and we haven’t seen him be able to do that, so the game itself will be interesting to see. Think Kyler Murray from a couple years ago, but not nearly as explosive.

Everyone knows I'm not an Avery Davis fan but I hope he proves me wrong

I'm certainly not a fan of his size but he did kill it in some of the best HS football in the country. I'm not sure if he'll end up starting at ND ever but if he does it'll be because he improves greatly. I'm pumped on BW and PJ. If PJ fills out he's going to be a BIG QB.

it should be noted though, it was even mentioned in several articles that he WOULDN'T shine in practices but he just dominates when the lights are on...killer instinct

lol Malik Zaire Mk.2

i knew someone would post that.....its just that avery's great at extending plays and right now he is being held to make plays from the pocket during practice...that's why they said he will light it up in the game

yeah the fact that blitz's arent' allowed does not really help him. the defenses are dropping 7 guys on every play, there aren't gonna be many holes to throw passes into
