Hard to see any top end defensive players wanting to come here and play for BVG. I know we have NFL players over the past 3 years, but how embarrassing for players to see themselves on a national stage with a defense like this. I am a ND Grad, I love the school, but the reality we are not in a good place.

Saying all that, ND is a special place. And when it grabs a person, it engulfs them. So, as pissed as I am at BK and BVG I still want the best.

Hope we get him, GO Irish!!!

He may be choosing a school and not a defensive Coordinator. BVG didn't miss easy tackles last night.

Anytime we beat PSU for Pennsylvania kid I'm happy. Jeter is the type of DL we need more of. Great offer list.

A player of his caliber doesn't see himself on THIS team being embarrassed, he sees himself on FUTURE teams being a difference maker. Why is this so hard for you people to understand?

I'm assuming he plays DE?!

SDE/DT much like Rochell only probably more athletic.

PSU wasn't ever in it. It was always Pitt. His brother hoops there.

6'6" 260 so he might end up sliding inside. But could play the KLM Rochelle type of role

He's not 6-6. This pic was taken for a WPa pre-season HS football special.

btw... look at Hinish on his tippy-toes! BUSTED! lol

Donovan Jeter composite 4:s: .898
Darnell Ewell composite 4:s: .934
Kurt Hinish composite 3:s: .867
Jonathon MacCollister composite s3s: .845

Average composite .886

2010: 4 commits (counting Shembo as DL)lead by Louis nix avg .895
2011: 6 commits (I'm excluding Nikolas final SDE positional rating) lead by Aaron Lynch avg .923
2012: 3 commits lead by Sheldon Day avg .920
2013: 2 commits lead by Iasac Rochell avg .916
2014: 8 commits (some eventual transfers) lead by Andrew Trumbetti avg .878
2015: 4 commits lead by Jerry Tillery avg .888
2016: 4 commits lead by Khalid Kareem avg .879

Current year class could have ratings updates but would currently be 3rd lowest average class for Kelly. Although I would expect this group to outperform some of its higher average rated classes

I know 247 has D Hayes as an OLB but you should put him with the D Line.

...although the tipped pass/INT might get him moved back there if he doesn't get to the QB soon.

He needs more playing time at DE getting after the QB. Start him at WDE and don't drop him in pass coverage. Then you will see the sacks and pressures.

I was kidding about the OLB comment, sorta. Remember, I'm the one who broke it to the world that he was going to be a 250lb+ DE in college while he was still a 5 star OLB prospect being compared to Jaylon at the Opening.

Now, all that said...

He obviously could play OLB as was evident on that pass play and IF you have to drop any lineman into coverage from time to time, PLEASE let it be him because he actually has done it his entire career.

Congrats to him. I hope he sticks and is coming to ND for all the right reasons. I also hope he brings some nasty to a D-line that could really use it.

I see it more as a Big Lou type commitment. Committing to the school itself and the entire ND experience rather than being sold on the on field product.
