From the most recent II podcast: Prister's source says he will be on the team in the fall, but not available for the first few games. O'Malley's source says it's "possible" he's on the team, but if so he wouldn't play the first four games.

Edit: publicly posted on ISD. The source Christian has is as good as it gets on this. I would bet against what Prister said on the podcast.

Weird they'd go on record with this. I said in another thread awhile ago that I heard it was more likely than CJ Holmes that he'd be back, but the last thing I heard (from a pretty darn good source too) was that McIntosh would not be back. Guess we'll see.

Agreed, I'm surprised a source would go on record. Even if the staff knows at this time that Deon's coming back, it seems like the better course of action would be to tell him his return depends on his good behavior and keeping fit over the summer and leaving it hanging over his head.

I know the two RB’s made dumb mistakes and are paying for it. However, from a pure football standpoint I’d love it if they got back one or even both of the RB’s. It sets up great depth for this season and would also take the load off of the 2019 RB class in that they might not need 2-3 guys.

Yea I've listened to the BGI podcast, II podcasts, and ISD podcasts, and I think Deon McIntosh is officially out. As II put it, the coaching staff kicked the tires and now its a no go. As for CJ Holmes I think there are several things contingent. One, grades and did he stay out of trouble this semester. Two, related to number one, but if he stays out of trouble then in one month he'll have his charge of shoplifting dropped. Three, I think ISD mentioned that Coach Kelly is simply out of town and hasn't had the chance to sit down with CJ Holmes to discuss his future. I'm rooting for CJ Holmes to come back, but if he doesn't Autry Denson has Dexter Williams, Tony Jones Jr, Avery Davis, Jafar Armstrong, Jahmir Smith, and C'Bo Flemister to work with. That's plenty of bodies and now we just need to hope that the talent part comes along with it.

Yes. Though of those, aside from Dexter Williams, CJ Holmes probably has the most talent as a running back. I, too, am rooting for him to return.
