What i'm meaning is your telling me that Alize mack and Deon Mcintosh went all year without violating a team rule? And now all of a sudden it's the bowl game and they do it? What did he get sent home for missing curfew?

It's a lot easier to catch bad actors when you're on the road. You've got all the players in one building and the coaches are walking the halls. It's a cat & mouse game. Sometimes you knock on a random door and one of the guys isn't there... sometimes a guy answers the door with alcohol on his breath... sometimes you walk by a room and smell a skunk. Sometimes smart coaches, keep walking depending on who's behind what door...

I mean its different for the bowl game. Most away games they get there like a day before so they don't have any nights without major commitments the next day. They're also not in a team's home town where they would probably get called out easier if people see them out.
So assuming it is a curfew thing or something similar (I have no knowledge of what it actually was), I think he was dumb for getting caught especially when the coaches are probably cracking down because of Stepherson and Holmes stuff, but I don't think its any type of indicator of past or future problems with him.

What sucks is that these suspensions, arrests, etc will be all that the announcers will be talking about during the pregame. I can't believe the level of stupidity!

Three of the four were not suspended for things that happened on the bowl game trip, but back home on campus. I'd write those episodes up to too much down time (and blatant stupidity in Stepherson's case). Stepherson and CJ did their thing after exams were done, didn't they? What else you gonna do on a cold Friday in December but go to the UP Mall for some fresh sweatpants?
The bowl trip itself, like with Deon here, is kind of party season. Stuff happens. Remember when Tillery and, IIRC, Redfield got sent home from the Fiesta Bowl a couple of years ago. And didn't George Atkinson get busted for looking at his phone at a dinner or something a few years back? I wouldn't make too much of it.
Of course, what happens on the bowl trip is rarely the first offense, if I had to guess.

Right. Hire the person who can ensure that an 18-22 year old will never make a mistake.
(And btw, in case some people need to be reminded, every infraction is not of equal weight. Some are more serious than others. It’s good that ND holds its players accountable, whereas in some other programs the consequence would be more like a suggestion.)

...meh. The ND cops and the surrounding jurisdictions aren't fan boys...neither is the faculty. In addition it is VERY clear the University disciplinary process is in the lead on most cases. As such many things other programs deal with internal to the team...not so much at ND.
As for the coaching staff...they have some discretion on curfew etc. If BK is sending a message...sucks for DM to have to be "THAT GUY".
But ND kids aren't worse than other programs...you need to be around one to get an idea of the shit that goes on...
Go volunteer at Ohio State, then tell me ND is worse.

And you want to equate them and ND to programs with something like punching out a girl friend and the school hides it.

I am glad we have a program that holds people accountable. If we didn’t have any discipline issues out of 80 or so young men, then I would be worried.
I have no idea what happened, but maybe the poon was too good to make it back by two. I had to throw in the homophone reference. I needed to meet my community service quota for December.
