Read in the newly offered kicker that he had surgery? Also remember seeing a tweet from ISD regarding an injury and had his picture?

Notre Dame Football: Irish Flip Kicker From Terps | FOX Sports

Kevin Sinclair
1/30/17

Last week, Notre Dame offered Doerer over the phone. So much attention has been paid to other recruits, not many fans heard about it. Irish kicker Justin Yoon will be taking a medical redshirt for part of, or all of, the ’17 season as he battles tendinitis.

I don't know what the writer is talking about regarding a partial redshirt year. There isn't any partial. I take it that Yoon will try to answer the bell but if the tendinitis prevents him from playing the medical redshirt would be pursued. I don't think it would be available. I haven't checked but believe played as a freshman so a redshirt year is available to him, 5 years to play four. The medical redshirt is a waiver for a six year window to play four.

It sounds like they are going to try taking him off of kick-offs in order for him to last the duration of the season, and go from there. This coming form the kicker commit.

I won't out the writer but this information is wrong again and this was what I was talking about getting your ducks in line and making sure the info is accurate and not taken it from this site.

To be fair this is a message board. Rumors are the coin of the realm, and should be taken with a grain of salt.
That said, what are you hearing the real story is with Yoon? Would suck to lose him. He's a good kicker.

I may be wrong, but I'm thinking this is a reproduction of news posted in another place, which stated "Yoon will be taking a medical recovery leave for part of 2017, and hopefully be ready for Fall."

It seems this writer jacked another writer's info, and saw "medical recovery" as "medical redshirt."

I only believe this to be likely, because the first time I read the original info, I myself thought it was worded strange and could have easily said "redshirt" if you didn't read closely.

EDIT: It was from the following passage in a scout article:

The Irish staff expects Doerer to start earning that scholarship his fall on kickoffs, with rising junior Justin Yoon reportedly facing a medical layoff for at least part of this off-season.

I'm taking about the writer lining up the facts before he puts the article out there whether it's from ISD or scout. I get this board is free game with that but if you aren't gonna site the source incorrectly at least have the write facts

Shouldn't that be "cite the source correctly" and "have the right facts"?

I know what I meant the sad thing is no one else did because i'm illiterate

You are far from illiterate.

Question is, are you far from sober?

Or do you just run at a mile a minute?

Slow down and take a breath!

Kelly said Justin Yoon was overloaded last year, which contributed to an injury. Won’t need surgery.

Kudos to Justin. I was worried about him after Temple but he came up big. Well done young man.

He was desperately needed, and stepped up to the plate. Not many other guys on the field last night get the same distinction.

Where's that shit head poster that said in the game day thread that Yoon was "nothing special" (or something like that)
