That'd be really disappointing. He seemed like an HH recruit who'd be fine waiting his turn. That family was all ND during his recruitment.

The problem is that he got passed up. There's not path to him starting. Personally, I'm surprised more kids this late in their careers don't simply wait to graduate then grad transfer.

hasn't he always been running as the 2nd team C? Who passed him up?
He's got potentially two years of backing up Mustipher and a battle royale to try to win a OG spot.
He can walk into 3/4 of P5 schools after a transfer year and start. Probably closer to 90%.
Wouldn't he be first off bench this year inside and likely to replace Q after this year?

Don't get it. How many years left does Mustipher have?
He would have been on the bottom of my list of potential transfers to start the year.

2 years of eligibility left. However, it sounds like he might have a tough decision on his hands at the end of this season. I think there are expectations that he has an NFL type of season.
I agree, that this is fairly shocking to me. Parents bought a house in South Bend. He had an ND truck, seemed like a kid that was in it for than just playing time.
If only he had a golf bag
I was super excited for Hoge and his future at ND. seemed like an awesome kid who came from a great family that loved ND. Lsu gotta be the favorite right? Or Florida I know he liked those two.
Good chance Robert Hainsey was going to pass him as Sam Mustipher's heir apparent.
Hainsey? I thought Hainsey was a T/G?
Hainsey can literally play any OL position. If I'm looking a couple years down the road I could see LT- Eichenberg LG- Banks C- Hainsey RG- Kraemer RT- Lugg. But that's just an educated guess.
And please don't ask or message me who the insider is because I'm not going to tell you.Hoge has one of the lowest football IQ's at ND
This is what I heard from an insider And please don't ask or message me who the insider is because I'm not going to tell you.
I say Hoge ends up at Oregon and I wish him the best of luck.
Kinda like Z-Mart?
Yeah, this one's a head scratcher for sure.
Did he graduate? I can't see any other reason than he got his degree and is wants to go somewhere where he can start. If he didn't, then he won't be able to play in 2017 at all, so why eliminate the chance to play altogether and not get your ND degree?
