How weird is it that a year and a half ago DK was absolutely struggling in the 2015 B&G game, clearly a #3 at that time behind Golson and Zaire. One transfers, the other gets injured, and he becomes the man. Now he's going to the NFL, and likely an early draft. I would have never said that in the spring of 2015.

Even when Kelly fails, his under-developed players somehow become millionaires.

DO NFL SCOUTS NOT READ THIS F***ING BOARD???

If he promises to have a Joe Flacco floor, I'll sign off and allow Virginia McCaskey to select him with our first pick. Otherwise give me the top Bama defender available and I'll check out the clearance aisle later.

In Hoyer we trust!

Ya had me till you got to Hoyer.......I hate to say it, but I think Barkley has played really well for not knowing the offense that well.

Yeah really, I'd rather have Barkley than Hoyer. Hasn't Hoyer also been just as injury prone as Cutty anyways?

He will be a good NFL QB. I totally understand his decision, why would he want to come back to the ness BK has made. BK has too keep saying he is full steam ahead, the AD has to come out and support him. The D is a mess, the online is a mess, special teams, coaching, sanctions. Good luck DK you have all you need to be successful.

ND is in a huge mess right now.

I believe he made the right decision for him and I don't have a problem with it at all.

Good luck young man, go out and do great things!

He had to go this draft class is so soft. Hope the Browns snag him with our Eagles pick. Myles Garrett and Kizer would be ana amazing result.

Italics fellas... italics.

Wouldn't it be great if DK went to the Bears and was the next Johnny Lujack?

Wouldn't it be turrible if he went to the Bears and was the next... every QB since Johnny Lujack?

As much as I hope he succeeds... I just see Geno Smith all over again.

As far as I know he's done everything asked of him in his time here. I've been pretty critical of his play this season, but wish him the best going forward. I'll always be a fan.

Not convinced he has the "it" to be a great one, or even hold down a starting spot - but given the situation he will definitely cash a big draft day check and get a shot. Cannot hold that against him one bit and wish him nothing but the best. Smells like a Quinn/Clausen type of career in the making though.

Most likely got a 1st round grade. Don't blame him in the least bit. I'll be very surprised if he doesn't go in the top-15. Browns, 49ers, Bears, Cards, and Jets could easily take him.

Don't blame Kizer at all for declaring early. He's raw and will need some time to develop but he definitely has all the tools to be a great QB.

Scouts already love his frame and the Coaches/GM's will love him when they interview him. With all the teams needing QB's this year, I could see him going top 10.

I wish him all the best.

Agreed Grey......I've been on him at times, but mostly because of missing open WR's. I don't think playcalling at times helped his cause, and I don't know if that's a direct correlation with having Co-coordinators or what this season.

Good luck Kizer. I don't think he is first round Material but if he didn't go this year next year would be worse.

so basically, he's not going to be a captain next year?

Kelly's last gasp effort to keep him from leaving failed.

Best of luck to him. He had some great moments. Obviously the UVA game is the tops, but the opening pass against USC was right up there.

Apples to oranges comparison though. Hoyer and Barkley are expendable backups that came dirt cheap, and had no opportunity cost connected with signing them.

DK would be tied to the franchise for at least 3 years theoretically, and come with a MAMMOTH opportunity cost seeing there are going to be plenty of studs available with a top 5 pick.

I would be livid if the Bears take him with their first pick, but happy if they did with the second round pick. He will fall somewhere in between though, so it's a moot point.

Got some posts mixed together. Saw yours about the scrubby backups at the helm now, and then one below that said they wouldn't be surprised if he goes top 15, and had the Bears as a suitor.

Gotcha. My post simply means it would be awesome if DK went to the Bears and became the next Flacco or Big Ben... but it would be even more bigly suckier if he came to the Bears and I was forced to loathe him like every QB in my lifetime (including Jimmy Mac eventually)

A Bear fan obviously coined the phrase... "because we can't have nice things"

yeah i am completely ok with the bears hitting the defense and o line with their draft picks rolling out hoyer/barkley at QB for another year. I mean they played just as well if not better than cutler anyways.

Very good news here IMO. We need a spark in our offense. A new QB at the helm. A new identity. So excited to see what Wimbush has
