That was my question. Probably didn't edit that right.

I wonder if he's talking about Robinson? From the eyes of someone who doesn't follow ND, I could see how they would know him over Fuller, simply because of his dad.

From the inside though... That comment seems off.

The comment reeks like Chris Palmer saying Bennett Jackson was our best corner in the 2013 Rutgers bowl game. At one point Robinson had pretty good hands, earlier in his career, but he struggled a bit late and has some ground to make up. Some of that may be attributed to a hand injury, but who knows.

Scouts love Robinson. Lot of mocks have him going 1st/2nd round. I'm sure it's him.

Personally, Robinson jumps out as someone who needs the full 4 years to develop physically and doesn't seem close to pro-ready, but that's just my opinion.

He catches the ball ok...it's when he's bring it to his body that he has trouble. I think it's a matter of strength. i too, think he needs all four years.

Sometimes I forget how well he did last year. Then I think about how much better he could be if he cleaned up the easy drops he had and I get all excited about this year. :)

Having more receivers ready and able to go, at a higher level will help everyone out, also.

Let alone opponents having to respect a running game. Having to keep eight in the box to respect the run, lets a guy like Will shred you on the back end.

In the college game, Will Fuller cannot be stopped. And Malik will be plenty accurate at finding him. He is going to terrorize defenses. My guess is that it will be HIS presence that bends defenses out of shape so that it is easier for us to run, rather than the other way around. Will Fuller is going to demand 1 1/2 to 2 man coverages.

Not only can he beat you deep but he's an absolute monster in the screen game, I don't see how you don't give the corner safety help.

Either way you look at it we will have more than one guy on the field this fall that requires a coordinated effort to contain; Kind of like "pick your poison!"

Came across this, last years highlights

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=K56_UVCqABo

Looking at this video......... on the last play of this video, the pocket breaks down and Golson is on move. He has about 6,000 lbs of offensive linemen in front of him, ready to seriously grade some road, and he throws a total jump ball into an area full of defenders. It turned out ok, but it was an INCREDIBLY bad decision. I'm guessing that the linemen and QB have some kind of code word for the QB to use, if he decides to tuck the ball and run, to let the linemen know that they can release downfield and block. Tucking the ball and running was absolutely the call to make there. I wonder if he was coached not to run, or if he just lacked the confidence to pull the trigger on the run there? Maybe there is a good reason that he was not named the starter and transferred.

The right NFL team will make him a star.

I'll bet everything he doesn't have the same year as last just because things are different now but he is a special player and a needed cog to make that run some of us are anticipating.

Good time to be an Irish fan.

He won't have the year he had last year because the offense won't be set up the same... But I fully expect him to come up huge in some big time situations, and very excited for this year!

Exactly.... as was the jump ball he threw under pressure against LSU to Fuller that luckily was not intercepted. Had it been, ND doesn't score on that drive which was the Folston TD where Malik threw the block and ND maybe doesn't win.

Had that been intercepted, Golson's ND career probably ends right on that play.

It was 3rd and 13 and they were down 11 with less than 12:00 minutes to play. There were defenders scraping back over the top and another sitting at the 15 waiting for him to run.

He was trying to make a play and get us back in the game. It worked.

One could also make the argument that if he doesn't throw that jump ball, ND doesn't score the TD on that drive (it was 3rd down when he made that pass), and ND maybe doesn't win.

3rd and 7 from the 38 and EG wasn't out of the pocket. He pretty much had no choice on that throw. Considering he was about to get sacked, I don't think he could have put enough on the ball to throw it out of bounds where he wouldn't get called for an intentional grounding...

That case could be made but I would reply with why was MZ taken out in the first place? The play prior he made an NFL caliber throw to Robinson that LSU's Tre'Davious White made an even better NFL caliber play to break up at the last second.

Either way, if it falls into the hands of an LSU defender that's probably EG's last play.

BK was kind of all over the place with the QB swaps that game. I don't think we would have beaten LSU with just Zaire or just Golson though, so props to BK there I guess.

Sure...But he drops to many damn balls!

True, hands are not his strong suit.

But man, that speed and quickness. I loved how, in the Texas game, he had to wait slightly on that long bomb, and then as soon as he caught it he just accelerated away from the defensive backs. The way he dusted them like he hadn't even been running hard prior to that point ... impressive.

Again, Harry Hiestand right? Can you imagine him wasting his talent at PSU?

This kid deserves a helluva lot more love nationally and by the media in general!

But that's okay! Let teams continue to single cover him when the game is on the line!
