Just like Golson did, amirite?
I like Malik and wish him the best. I think he will be good, but will be a mix between UVA and Texas Malik....aka....inconsistent.
IMO, MZ is incredibly different than EG. EG was quiet, introverted, etc.. MZ is vocal leader. From a performance standpoint, MZ is a much better runner, and I believe will run the option much better than EG given the chance.
Time will tell. MZ performed for us when given the full opportunity (not the crap he was handed this year). Don't get me wrong, I think DK is great (probably the better option at the time), and a much better passer (although he looked lackluster a bunch this year), but I think MZ will do much better under a different HC/OC.
Let's be honest, our QBs have consistently taken a step back under BK, DK being the latest. The whole DK/MZ thing was a bad situation with MZ's injury and all, so I think a fresh start will be great for MZ (much different than EG's fresh start). He has more to prove (more desire to prove). I just think MZ has more mental toughness than EG, and will likely succeed with the right O scheme.
