Meyer is as good of a snake oil salesman as college football has ever seen, and that is saying something.

Edit: Whiskey, you were posting as I was typing. I wasn't trying to steal your word, but it does say a lot that we both used the same one.

I can't stand him either and I do not like his tactics. What he pulled at Florida during that last recruiting push before he left is just plain dispicable. That said all the kids being recruited know exactly who he is and that he is a 2x National Championship coach. It's not praise in any way it just is what it is.

Also, on the issue as to whether the post was from Mr. Elliott or not: it would be nice if it was, but I feel the same way as I stated whether the Elliott family made that particular post or just reads the thread. Best wishes to Mr. Elliott and Ezekiel whatever comes. THAT is afterall what we are about at Notre Dame.

From what I have seen from following recruiting:

- mad about rumors = truth
- laugh at/off rumors = no truth

Derrick Green and Taquan Mizzell will both visit OSU over the next two months. They are in fact planning on taking 2 RBs.

Just sayin'.

Great news! With Green out of the picture, Ezekiel becomes an excellent fit for us right now. With his speed he could be a great RB in our system and he offers the flexibility to play CB, which we may need if we don't solve our depth issues there (as we needed it with Cam McDaniel). I would be ecstatic if he flipped.

I still think he isn't going anywhere, unless they bring in another back in this class. pOSU coaches might try to justify bring on another back in some way, but bottom line is EE was led to believe that they were only taking one in this class and he thought it was him. If they take another back, then I think we got a 50/50 shot.

You're right. It's just that I went to Ohio State for grad school and don't have a high opinion of their academic program for athletes. I'll delete the earlier post.
When it comes to football, Ohio State's APR is #4 in the nation among 1-A teams. It is higher than ND's APR.

What program were you in?

Not to get into a debate, but APR is basically meaningless. It's all calculated off of keeping athletes eligible... which if you can't see why that's silly, there's no point in going further. It basically exists so that the NCAA can have something to point at in the guise of promoting "student" athletes without actually doing anything to force schools to give athletes a real education.

Ohio State has a 67% graduation rate and 51% graduation rate for African Americans... which is in the bottom 20 of all of FBS. ND graduates 97% and 100%, respectively... without any "general studies" programs.

So please... let's not start this. The OP did the right thing in deleting his post.

My Ph.D. is in a discipline in the humanities. As Lax pointed out, I deleted my post because I don't want to start a debate. But we both know that many of the athletes at OSU are majoring in leisure studies (at least that's what it was called then) and similar courses of study. Let's drop it. My earlier post was out of line.
