If he is a legit 6'1 I don't understand not offering him. I know you have to have a cut off at some point and the coaches feel like that is 6'2 I believe, but there should definitely be exceptions for a player of his caliber.

Now if he is 5'10-5'11, then I can see our staff being a little more skeptical

Years ago an NFL team (I think it was the Cowboys) drafted a rather diminutive LB (I think it was Dat Nguyen from Texas A & M) and they took some heat for it from draft "experts." When the team was asked about it they said "we didn't bring him in to screw in light bulbs, we brought him in to play football."

I'm all for the RKG's, with that being said, I'm more into the idea of getting great football players on the field, regardless of height or weight. Great football players have no predetermined height or weight. Offer the kid.

I dont understand why we haven't offered this kid yet. He is a good player and he plays a position of need

I really wish I knew why. If its size, you.gotta overlook it sometimes.

If it's size, why have him visit the campus? It's not like you can fix height. However, grades CAN be fixed. Makes me think it's more than just size here...

As I noted yesterday:

He's listed as having camped at OSU and UTN but doesn't have an offer from either.

He's a consensus Top 5 ILB by the services and has an offer from Vandy so he doesn't appear to have academic concerns. Maybe size does matter.

ND isn't alone in not offering a prospect the recruiting services highly rate. He camped at OSU and UTN and still no offers from them.

Academics is alway a possible concern at ND but Vandy has offered and they also require 16 core courses like ND. On the other hand, academics are never an issue in Columbus or Knoxville.

As for why have him visit, it was his choice. He came on his dime. It's not like ND sent him a plane ticket.

Any update on this kid? If it isn't grades (Vandy offer), what the heck is it? Offers now include Ark, FL, UGA, MI St, Nebraska, OK, PSU, WI, and UCLA.

In your backyard, good grades (again Vandy assumption), rated well,,,, I don't get it.

He shows as a UGA lean on 247 I think. OSU second.

Gotta protect the back yard. And his HS needs to be an Irish feeder.
