Quinn and Clausen haven't been gone all that long, and they were awfully talented.
Seriously. Clausen and his 28 TDs and 4 INTs would like a word. 68% completion percentage.

Golson is the most talented athlete to play the position at Notre Dame in a long time.

It seems like they've been gone since Montana left ... the TV commerical one.

I could be wrong but I thought in the bowl game Golson stayed in the pocket better than any game he had played previously.
Perhaps it was the OLine shuffle, perhaps the OLine did better because they knew the area to protect and he stayed in it.
I would agree. While it was a small sample size, I think Golson did do a better job in the bowl staying in the pocket and going through his reads. In many other games he would have missed his check down guy, and he hit it a few times in that LSU game.
He struck me as much more disciplined. IF that was a developmental step and not a one time aberration he might be a polished QB come Spring Ball. Most QBs make their mark as upperclassmen in their 3rd and/or 4th seasons.
If the maturity light has gone one, he might even become a Call and Haul QB.
Should be interesting.
dshans must be feeling a disturbance in the force.

Did we ever figure out if this is even legal per the NCAA? Who (BK, Golson, the NCAA) would need to give consent for this contact to take place?Per ESPN's Brett McMurphy 24 schools have inquired about Golson. This was posted on the Irish247 board where Wiltfong said he thinks Golson is the guy for 2015.

The way people get around these rules is through the use of intermediaries. So someone will contact Golson's "camp" expressing interest so that if he decides to transfer he'll know they're a potential landing spot... or Golson's "camp" will make calls to places to gauge interest.
It's the same way coaches get around contact rules during certain periods... call an intermediary (i.e. parent or handler), have the intermediary ask the player to place the call, and then you're around the rule.
So in short, all contact rules are basically toothless unless someone is brazen enough to break the few prohibited forms of communication.
What if it's not Golson doing the contacting?
What if his dad is tracking down athletic department numbers and asking questions?
Is that a dumb question?
It worked for Cam Newton, didn't it?
What is a horseshoe?
What does a horseshoe do?
Do they make horse socks?
Is anybody listening to me?
Can't embed but someone post the tweet he just tweeted
