No, not really. Details other than an NFL player is being charged. says something about a liver laceration.
A child died and the details of how are oblique.
A child dying of 'child abuse' Is a really odd way of death, over such a short period of time. Especially since she was with her father 2 days before, according to the report you re-posted.

Pretty obvious she seriously beaten with bruises all over her body and a large liver laceration. Disgusting. Whoever did this should never be allowed out of prison.

It's hard for me to process a guy that spent his college days at ND was capable of this.
I try to assume innocence until proven guilty but this one is tough.
Horrible stuff, and a kid,,,, makes me sick to my stomach. Prayers.
Not sure I'm a fan of changing his title already though.

Drugs can make a person do horrible things. Guy I worked with for years got caught up in meth and other hard drugs. Went crazy and killed his girlfriend and her 5 year old son. Never would have thought it possible knowing him before the drug use.

I certainly know what drugs can do to people, but didn't know if for sure they played a part here. He was playing FB in Canada until last summer I thought. Such a quick and hard fall. Had hoped he'd fall back on that degree (he did graduate didn't he?)

Alcohol is no different. I’ve had some bad times on the sauce and had to learn some hard life lessons and to drink in moderation. Never did anything horrible but bad enough to get called out on a few occasions. The thought of doing something toward any other human let alone a child is scary and sad. Some don’t learn until rock bottom hits and it’s too late unfortunately. Peace be with those innocent little kids.

It’s difficult to fathom anyone being involved in such a heinous crime, especially someone we cheered for as a student athlete. However, his charges (especially being the sole person charged for murder) signify there is likely strong evidence proving his involvement. But you are right and I mean this sincerely. Innocent until proven otherwise. The repulsion is more towards the thought of a beautiful little girl suffering so. And IF Cierre is proven to be involved, then wtf... I thought he was raising his own daughter? How could anyone be so vile?

So, Let's get a sense of yourself. I haven't read anything that says Cierre was apart of this at all. He was arrested because he was a boyfriend? In my opinion, he looks to be apart of another outlandish story that involves the media and an NFL player.
It's amazing tho, he Is apart of the Millennial generation, that being said he is apart of the weirdest generation.
My thoughts and prayers are for this lil girl and those that loved her.

I hate to quote millennial girls, but I can’t even with this shit. They didn’t arrest him because he was the boyfriend. They arrested him because he allegedly MURDERED a 5 year old child.

I’m sure you do, I wasn’t trying to lecture you. I was just amazed watching a guy I knew for years, completely change (seemed to become a paranoid schizophrenic) and then ultimately shooting a child point blank range. Doesn’t seem like Wood ever had any violent tendencies in his past. Only way I can see him going from that, to a possible child murderer, is hard drugs. Obviously, details will emerge with time.

As Chief Counsel for our County Dept. Of Sicial Services, i van tell you this happens far too often. We see neglect cases turn into fatality cases and we see "bizarre" occurrences.... had one where mom snd bf wanted to score drugs so they put the kid in a playpen with a wooden board over the top and a heavy tv ontop to prevent the kid from pushing it. You can guess how that resulted... another where mom refused all medical treatment a month prior, kid developed RSV, mom stopped feeding her because she was cranky, and on NYE she left kid at a friends house while she and friend partied, came back to tragic scene.

Point is, this happens often and without fanfare. Absolutely disgusting

Such a sad situation. I'm sickened to the core with this whole story. Very sad story no matter what the outcome.

I've seen stuff like this during my time in public education... I simply cannot ever wrap my mind around how someone could do such a thing to a child, YOUR child at that... but it happens often enough sadly.

Seems contradictory to not allow "transfer rumors" on this board but to put "Piece of Crap" in a former players thread over an open investigation that points towards the mother being the killer.

Based on this article they both killed her, not from any one specific act but from constant abuse. It’s sickening. Wood apparently had a 5 year old daughter too. I imagine they’ll get charged with child abuse and second degree murder or involuntary manslaughter. If they ever see the outside of a prison again it’ll be too soon.

You’re right. Piece of S H I T is much more appropriate.

This article makes it seem like it was the mom that was physical and killed her. Obviously, Cierre could be lying but the mom admits to sitting on her child as punishment (what the fuck is wrong with people?) and basically admits to killing her.

She sat on her, but she had bruises and contusions elsewhere. I suspect both are equally guilty.

Want the child to lose a pound or two? Feed her healthy food and take her to the playground on a regular basis.

Cierre Wood is a piece of sh!t, not crap.

And to go with 'gotta hear both sides!' by citing our general rules on transfer speculation is weak sauce.

more so going with the "players and their families read this board" argument, but guess that's why I'm not a moderator

Cierre's story is well known at this point.

A random player who may or may not be transferring, or who fans simply want to see leave, is different.

I think people understand what you’re saying and I believe most would agree to hold judgement until proven guilty. However, this involves the murder/death of a child which is a different monster in itself. Even murders in prison don’t take lightly to people who harm children.

Considering what he has admitted to he is guilty — at minimum — of turning a blind eye to child abuse. We’re talking about degrees of crapiness here.

If you want to argue he’s a cool guy because he didn’t deal the killing blow himself that’s your prerogative.
