I agree. But I dont want to get too excited because he is still a Florida commit. If we get him we definately have the best defensive recruiting class in all of college football

Knowing Alford is getting after it makes me comfortable with the possibility of flipping this kid. He really seems to bond and leave a lasting impression with the kids he recruits.

Probably the reason he recruits the south east.

For those that are pushing the "well our recruits are gonna graduate" or "we're gonna win titles in the classroom" approach, yeah, I get it. And it's fantastic that we're one of the few schools that can graduate our players.

But.....We are discussing football.


I hate how some ND fans have hid behind the academics or used it to basically justify, why we can't win. Face it, if we were winning, you'd NEVER bring it up.

ND is a fantastic university. But I want to win on the field. And don't gimmie the "We we won 10 games...." No. I want championships.

I want championships too, but not at the cost of sacrificing what is really important...the STUDENT in student-athlete. Put the College back in College Football. Integrity and honor above all else.


When we do win, you can bet your @$$ that Notre Dame fans will continue to use superior academics as a selling point. This staff is building the foundation




All that aside, Alford and Kelly have a great shot at turning Poole back to the light side of the force.

I don't see us landing Poole. He's got roughly 10 days before NSD and still remains committed to Florida. I think he is a pipe dream and I have no idea why II mods have continued to trumpet the idea of us landing him for months.

I'd love to be wrong, but think it will take some serious Alford/Kelly magic.

I think Howard making a declaration for FSU or Florida early would help us with either Darby or Poole... but he's not announcing for awhile, right? Just don't see us landing Poole. I think, right now, you have to hope for Standifer to pass admissions + Yuri Wright to still be recruited + Ekanem to still be recruited + a very very very lucky Davonte Neal to ND after NSD. That's the dream scenario.
