Wow!

Can we start the rumor about Perkins wanting to go downstate to play WR for Kiel?

I bet this is the most excited you'll ever see ND fans get for a 5 star going to another school. haha

Have the offered Dieter yet? He could be a good fit with Gunner.

Man...I feel kinda bad for the kid...his talent will go to waste at IU.

Good for Dame though!

IU isn't THAT bad. They should've beaten Iowa last year. Lost to Michigan by 7 and NW by 3.

Turn those into wins and they are 8-4 (4-4). They have some pieces to work with. A top notch QB could turn a program like IU around big time.

Not to mention how much recruiting may just pick up with the new head coach and Gunner on board.

no... for realz.... If he didn't end up Irish, IU is the best possible landing spot. I will believe it when he signs though. I don't think that coaches are going to stop recruiting him. It's a long time until NSD.

I cannot forsee this sticking. Crazier things have happened, but I cannot bring myself to believe that a guy with this type of fan fare will go to IU.

Good for Kevin Wilson and good for IU...it may not mean anything, but it could lead to something down the road for them. Good luck to him and the Hoosiers.

straight up... stay in this kids ear... Bama and OU aren't gonna give in to Indiana... and if the Hooisers get rocked early and often you never know what could happen over the next five months... and it's not like BK anc CO. are going after anyone else... nothing to lose.

This.
The season will dictate... His IU commit may stick, but I'm with Acamp
if IU's offense sputters, seems unfit "in action", or perhaps Gunner sees himself that maybe a different /better chance could be had, then you never know...

This includes ND, OU, Bama...

To me it seems far from over

Call me crazy but ND is not missing out on anything here.

#1 rated QB in the nation who you gonna take?

Kiel or Clausen?

This is a weak QB class in general. Nothing against the kid, but when he is the #1 prospect, its sayign something.

I am willing to bet he isn't even the #1 QB come Feb. He was pretty underwhelming at the Elite 11.

Winston might end up #1.

I am not sold on Gunner being the type of QB that fits ND's offensive system. While he is mobile, he is not a true dual threat. Kind of like Crist. Crist is a good (with potential to be great) QB but not a great fit for our offense.

Well, good luck to the kid, do give him props for choosing the right school for him and not a big time contender. If it was me...ND would be my choice. :)

He's definitely going to stick. It's where he wants to go. He's already said that he's going to recruit for IU. He's going to be a Hoosier.
