Lets not forget how much of our roster grew up in the south, not like theyre all from Minnesota
Good point:Lets not forget how much of our roster grew up in the south, not like theyre all from Minnesota
Lets please smack the fuck out of these clowns so they realize they're the ones that are overranked. They beat 0 ranked teams last year, and lost 3 of their last 4. Beck didn't leave Georgia because he was a phenom, he was replaced.
I guarantee there are respectful Miami fans and analysts out there but that show wasn't it. I watched the show and all I witnessed was they like to drink alcohol and talk shit about the other team. The guy in the middle seemed the most sensible but then fandom would overwhelm them again.
Legitimately : Miami might be vastly improved. Their defensive coordinator might truly be a wizard but that means all of their transfers will have to pick up the system and have their assignments/checks/calls memorized and operational. Their units have to understand the big picture of the defense so they can decide when to let go of their assignment, etc.
Their offense was potent last year but seemed to faulter continually against better defenses. They had zero ranked wins as you alluded. Their #1 pick QB is gone, along with their top 3 WRs.
The most worrisome thing for me is that we have an unproven DL (but lots of experience) and they have a helluva OL. They deserve that recognition and it could be the key matchup. If Beck stays clean, this will be a tough game. Our secondary can absolutely be elite but.....they can't cover for 4+ seconds.
Ash must be prepared to hit the accelerator at times.
To be contrarian here, 12 out of 44 guys on our two-deep is not really ALL that many, and two of them are from St. Louis which, while yes quite humid in the summers is not actually the South so much as the southwestern corner of the Midwest.Good point:
RB: Jeremiyah Love (Missouri), JD Price (Texas)
TE: Ty Washington (Georgia)
WR: Jordan Faison (Florida), Malachi Fields (Virginia), Jaden Greathouse (Texas)
OL: Anthonie Knapp (Georgia)
DL: Bryce Young (North Carolina)
LB: Jaylen Sneed (South Carolina), Jaiden Ausberry (Louisiana)
CB: Leonard Moore (Texas), Christian Gray (Missouri)
S: Jalen Stroman (Virginia)
And anybody who is questioning whether Missouri or Virginia should count, those states have miserable summers.
Exactly. A&M were on their heels that entire 4th quarter. Had there been another quarter ND wouldve won by 20I remember when the Texas heat was a popular topic of conversation leading up to the A&M game. Then the game started and A&M players were the ones puking. Our S&C program has shown before that they will have the team prepared.
Understood, but it's not hotter than College Station. More humid, but College Station isn't far from Houston where the humidity is horrible.
I think Landow will have them hydrated.
Was going to make similar points but you two nailed it. We had the same concerns leading up to Aggies last year. Its not uncommon for fans of a team to let the team down and it has happened to ND repeatedly (Nebraska takeover being the prime example) so I sympathize with Miami here. It must be very frustrating having a bunch if schizophrenics making up the bulk of your fanbase. Can't believe they claim this is a huge game for them, but they still haven't sold out the stadium? What a bunch of losers.
Agree, especially with how easy it is to track the readiness of players through a ton of metrics, and hydrate them appropriately in the days leading up to the game.Hot weather aspect is wayyy overrated...cold to a certain extent as well but I think cold would be more of a factor than hot...its been hot here in Chicago this past summer with temps exceeding 90s with humidity...so i dont buy the hot weather BS..its not like we play in Anchorage, AK or Siberia for crying out loud...
There are half full sections. Not missing a few like full rows. lolCan't believe they claim this is a huge game for them, but they still haven't sold out the stadium? What a bunch of losers.

But you can sleep better knowing that your hard earned money is in the hands of a scalper instead of in Miami’s cash account. God speed. And I'm the shmuck who spent $20 more to buy on the secondary market...
I expect this will be their real bowl game this year and they come out giving us their best shot anyway. Hopefully they get shut down early and lose that motivation. Can't believe they claim this is a huge game for them, but they still haven't sold out the stadium? What a bunch of losers.

If we for some reason lose in Miami it's not going to be about the weather lol. Goodness we need actual football to talk about.
My buddy won some in the ND lottery (I hope this means we’ll be in a non-Miami section) but I’m wondering if we should’ve waited for Miami to panic drop the price. Can’t wait either way!And I'm the shmuck who spent $20 more to buy on the secondary market...

Some of you may be familiar with Brian Smith(he's been on IB a few times), specializes in South Florida recruiting. Gives a non bias breakdown. Has the Irish 31-20. Thinks it's close til ND puts it away late. Speaks highly of a lot of ND guys.
Ignorance truly is bliss.Miami fan, “you got no one on your offense we are scared of’” lol 😂
Baby powder/corn starch Is miraculous down here.This.
I'm sorry, but I lived in the deep south and practiced in full pads in 100 degree, swamp-ass conditions regularly.
You never get used to it. It always sucks. The notion that living in it makes you inherently better equipped to play in it is a fantasy.
Doesn't make your internal temperature regulation better. It just means you may be slightly more accustom to the swamp ass feeling.
They're just farming for hits at this point.

Boxing day.The brat in me is pissed off this game is Sunday, not Saturday.
That first official Saturday is Christmas. This feels like Santa skipped our house.
