He will probably do really well in that horrible football conference called the Big 12. How long before they go to the SEC? His junior year? Then they will be perennial a perennial 7-5 team. I assume they will be added to the SEC west?

He's an 18 year old idiot who was thinking with his dick.

I want to hammer him but at 18 my dick did a lot of thinking for me.

No one offered me NIL money to agree with what it was thinking.

Good luck hopefully OU is everything he expects.

Something tells me he's going to transfer at least once and be a day 3 pick in the draft though.

I wouldn't assume they go West. They may go there, maybe the SEC is going to revamp their division system entirely. Doesn't matter where they go IMO, they are going to have a hard time.

If he was thinking with his dick, then why rope Oregon into this? Why create that whole fiasco and fake ND and their commits out and embarrass them? Why not just decommit and go with your dick in the first place?

I can understand poor decision making, but you lose me when you are going behind the scenes and intentionally lying and deceiving other coaches.

Because a dick is a dick and all its decisions are dick moves.

So why did he chose OR not OK? Then chose OK?
His dad's a clown who gave Peyton terrible advice, which is why he tried to commit to Oregon without understanding that certain paperwork had to be in place before they'd offer him a bag of cash. When he realized his mistake, he called Freeman and wanted to sign with us, but we said "no thanks." He ended up at OU because that was the only program left he hadn't burned bridges with.

We did dodge a bullet here, and I'm glad that Freeman had enough pride to tell him off after the hat fake.

We dodged plenty of bullets this class.
Moore woulda jumped last second and we woulda been screwed
Peyton woulda transferred after year one from being home sick.
Jayden Limar woulda rode pine his first 2 years and transferred before then.
Only loss I see is Keon

The Edwards loss stings for me a bit because ND very rarely has a player with physical skills, but major boom or bust there.

I'm less stung about Edwards, because ND managed to land Kaleb Smith...the younger Kaleb Smith.

Edwards has more positional versatility, but ND really needed a slot receiver, and Smith has more refined receiver skills, while also being ridiculously fast and elusive in space.

I think what happened between his initial conversation with ND post Oregon commitment - in which he reportedly said he wanted to come to ND - and deciding on Oklahoma is unconfirmed.

Unconfirmed meaning I don’t know if they dropped him but it also doesn’t seem like OU won a full on 1 v 1 to the end. It almost seems like ND was like “oh no don’t go” Willy Wonka style.

Agree, Keon was a big miss. Others were net neutral or active plus that they didn’t commit to us in the case of Dante Moore.

I also think Edwards might end up being a big miss, but he’s far from a sure thing due to size.

So how did Oklahoma spin goes from 3 to 1 or they did even try to spin it? Do they even care because in the end they got their man?

I also assume OU "sources" for these events is Bowen himself and can anyone really believe the words coming out of his mouth?

ND is dodging 5 Stars this cycle like it's the Matrix.

And we can tell ourselves that we dodged bullets, but all it's really doing is supporting the BOT and administration dogma and keeps the shackles on the ND Football program.
I mean it’s not NDs fault the kid couldn’t make a decision, I’m not disagreeing that the administration could be doing more to help the program but this kid was commited to 3 schools in 24 hrs lol

I'm not an alum so I can't really complain. But it would be nice to know ND is making itself as available an option as humanly possible. Are they doing that? Maybe. Idk. I dont follow recruiting closely or know anything.

I will take a small victory lap that I said ND should have looked at the kid from South Dakota when Dante committed to Oregon. Kid ended up at Ohio State. Rated similarly to Minchey. Glad we got Minchey. But the only time I have advocated for looking into a kid he ends up at a bona fide blue blood.

Keon Keeley is #10 on the 247 consensus.

Because Oregon boosters offered him a ridiculous amount of money to sign. When his family and a lawyer looked at the "contract" there was nothing there actionable. Mom was right.

Then he went back to his girlfriend who will break up with him or he'll break up with her within a year. His mom was right. Kid made a bad bad decision.

It sucks, but the reality of the situation is right out there for everyone to see.

"You serious, Clark?"

He really tried getting back in with ND after that charade? Damn. I agree, good on Freeman.

My second reaction (the first should be obvious) was directed at how shocked and upset his mom was. Like she had no clue he was about to do that because that's not what they agreed upon or something along those lines. I'm going to assume after a heated family meeting, post announcing, is when mamma bear's gloves came off and tried getting him back to ND. Just a guess.

As a parent, I can't help but hope that this kid didn't just ruin his life trajectory. If he busts or has a career-ending injury, they all have to live with the "coulda, woulda, shoulda" regrets. Maybe a booster at OU paid him and he'll be fine? Idk. But choices have consequences and his mom clearly saw the benefits to ND, whereas allegedly, his dad and others close to him (including Peyton, himself) did not.

"And that's all I have to say about that."

And?

I don't think that changes a thing. Alabama has plenty of talent there. He could be a young TJ Watt and not get on the field early there. There are multiple Keon Keeley's at Alabama. And they happen to be a year or two older and have spent considerable time with their strength and conditioning coach.

- Dad wanted Oregon ($$$), Mom wanted ND. Neither wanted him to go to OU.

- His timeline of accurately conveying his true stance to ND is completely muddied and he shelled up.

- Committing to Oregon on National Signing Day and then basically just not talking to them right after is a wild move.

- Said his Dad took ND off the table and refused to elaborate more - $$$.

- When I think of NIL I think of trying to get my money as soon as possible.

There was an “altercation”. That was interesting.
