I feel like some of ya'll would let your best friend have a turn with your wife while you watched.
It would be more fitting if Mickens develops the boys that already bleed blue and gold and they get drafted before Bowen.

Sure. Maybe we make more of those two than the programs they chose over us. And we all want all the best players.

But they made their choice and the guys who chose us are also pretty pretty good. Flipping your shit over almost any individual recruit is a waste of energy. There are many good football players out there.
Bingo.

We have the room. There's always room. If anything you can use Bowen coming back into the fold as a pitch to kids that are on the fence. "Hey look what happened with Peyton. He stayed home for the wrong reasons and burned two years before he realized his mistake. Don't let that be you."
Good point, but I'll let the coaches determine if the juice is worth the squeeze. I move on very quickly when it comes to this nonsense because at the end of the day when it comes to recruiting I'm Red in front of the Shawshank parole board after several decades: I don't give a shit. @dublinirish also makes a good point about these guys being non graduate transfers. Take Dante Moore for example. He's already been in two programs. I don't think ND is going to be in the business of messing with that unless the circumstances are an absolute fit. In other words, non graduate transfers from Stanford and Northwestern could maybe work. Maybe.

Recruiting is a major component of the process, obviously, but for all the hand wringing over the years the world never came to an end because this recruit or that recruit didn't come to Notre Dame. Sure, you can wonder about what they could have done under our coaches, but they were given the opportunity all of us would dream of and they chose elsewhere. Whatever their reasons, I just don't lose sleep about it. Everyone has to carve their own path in life, and you can't put shit back in the donkey.

Yeah I wouldn't suggest Freeman or the staff waste time trying to pursue him, but if Bowen reached out and apologized to Freeman and asked if he could transfer I wouldn't say no just because he spurned us before. At the end of the day it's a business and this team is better with Bowen on the roster than not.

I would agree with that. It's ultimately up to them. They live it day to day and know more about Bowen than I ever would.

I think it would show tremendous character for Bowen or anyone else to do that, and knowing what the university/program projects itself to stand for, that's a situation where you hear a kid out if they're displaying the attributes that jive with the university's values and mission. Would they want another opportunity to come to Notre Dame, is it for the right reasons, is what they are saying genuine, etc.? If anyone is going to stick their neck out and try to get admissions to make an exception, they'd better be sure.

I doubt we see anything like this happen here, however, so I could really care less about what Bowen is doing at OU. I also don't wish him, Dante, Keely, Deuce, etc. any ill will because i don't know the full story and didn't really follow it all enough to make any kind of synopsis that these teenage athletes were malicious in anyway. You do what you have to do in life and there's no telling what I would do if in a similar situation because when I was 17 I begged to be a I-AA walk on.

Went to a place called boozy biscuit in Aurora Colorado this morning for breakfast. It was pretty good. I enjoyed it. Food is decent and drinks were pretty good.

Let’s get this thread back to where it’s supposed to be.

The midwestern flare of having my biscuits and gravy with a tree hugging fru fru mimosa!! Best of both worlds.
Tbh I would not think that a mimosa paired well with bs & gs. Now a Bloody Mary…you’ve got my attention.

My wife was private school girl that has only dated me and me only. One of her high school friends was coming to town and she was telling her friend she used to have a crush on him… he was a little dweeb… so I said “hall pass babe, have at it” thinking it wouldn’t matter because she would never. Then he came to town and was not the geeky little boy he used to be. Ripped tall doctor walks in and that hall pass expired real quick.

That's why we always go to Uptown Kitchen. Wife can get boozed up by 10:30am and I can enjoy an over priced plate of corn beef hash.

There is a Tipsy Biscuit in Elkhart. Small and quant but food is just as good and bigger portions and booz… yes Elkhart. They might not accept your kind there though. 😉

I cannot confirm that I may have been there and that I may have enjoyed it.

What happened in Bowen's personal life is his business. Could he be playing better if he stayed committed to ND? We'll never know.

I don't understand the connection here, but I admit this is not my area of expertise. Some of you guys are more worldly than me.

Just noticed Eli Bowen has better stats in 2 less games while being a year younger and smaller.
