I’ll preface this by saying Tate is very likely to end up a Buckeye. That hasn’t changed. But this free article summarizing clippings from the Lucky Lefty Podcast maybe changes somes POV on Tate. Kid basically had to convince Mom to give ND another chance. That isn’t a kid just playing Notre Dame or being a diva with the visits he takes IMO.

Who didn't see that coming.

Carnell is a master of the social media rope-a-dope. So it will be a roller coaster. Getting him back for the spring game is a definite positive.

His interview with Lefty Lucky Podcast had some interesting tid bits. He said he'd love to play with Dante Moore but understands it might not work out that way. Also said he'd come to ND with or without Dante.

Sounds like he really likes ND but he wants to make the decision that gives him the best chance to make it at the next level. NIL is also a big factor. I can see why he might be a OSU lean but a lock? I'd say Marcus Freeman has a decent shot the longer this plays out.

OSU has the track record w/WRs but if he wants to walk in and play right away, we have the depth chart issues to allow that. Throw in Freeman and hopefully Moore and proximity to home and yeah I’d say the longer this goes the better for us.

Unless of course he’s really all about that NIL in which case forget it.

We don't actually believe this do we? ISD was super vague in their post. Sounded clickbait worthy for sure. I've been a pretty big critic as of late, I know, but I'll say it again (never thought I would), but TL and 247 has passed them up.

and no. I'm not Tom Loy. lol

That sounds exactly like something Tom Loy would say

Thinks Tennessee may have not only bounced us but could have the edge.

I’ve seen elsewhere some growing optimism on Kasper as well for them.

Have to credit Tennessee in their plan. They secured the money. They secured the QB and now have moved to the WRs. All because they hired a HC who has a Mickey Mouse offense that takes advantage of CFB rules (or lack thereof) and Hooker strung together a nice half a season to offer up the resemblance of a plan for the future.

It’s essentially a business proposal. It doesn’t work just with NIL. It doesn’t work just with Nico. And it doesn’t work just with Heupel’s offense. But they now have all three.

In life, everyone has a few critical decisions to make. If Tate thinks NIL money is the best decision to make for himself, so be it. I personally wouldn't do it, but circumstances are like fingerprints, everyone's is different. Hope he gets what he wants in the next 10-15 years.

Easy to say when you’re not being offered several million dollars. Unless the difference in NIL is negligible this is the right decision.
