C'mon, we weren't "forced" into the ACC contract. We chose that path. The honorable thing to do would be to play a game at BYU. I'd personally enjoy playing them on occasion. I respect their decision to go independent. Would be a fun little "rivalry".

Forced. I didn't say at gun point. I didn't say through legal prowess. If we didn't align with a conference and give up our previous scheduling model, we'd have been SOL in putting together a strong schedule. With each conference increasing the amount of in-conference games, Notre Dame really had no choice...ie - forced.

I don't mind eventually getting to the game to "honor" the agreement but it's not foremost on the list. It's more of a right place, right time, sure, we'll get it on the books kind of game. I do like NDCrusader's idea of playing the game on a neutral field.

just saw College Football Trash Talk Nation posted on facebook that Notre Dame football is in talks to offically join ACC by 2023. Anyone else hear this?

Can you copy/paste the info? It's from a Private Group.

When BYU went independent I think they looked at the Irish and said, "Hey, we can be the next ND!" We scheduled them to that series to help them out, then drop them and went halvsies with the ACC. I can see why they'd be bitter aside from the lost home games.

If this is true, maybe that's why Jack didn't fight for ND getting a Bye the first round of the playoffs. He knew we'd be joining the ACC and it would be moot.

SoCal has lots of LDS, don't they? How about a game in the new Rams stadium?

We already play in LA every other year, I would be down with San Diego again but they don't have any stadiums anymore other than Petco Park

I read some pretty nice height/weight updates on some of the freshman players such as OT Joe Alt checking in at 6-8, 298 (initially listed at 6-7, 280 when he signed). Audric Estime, 215 pounds in December, now up to 228 (still 6-0), Jayden Thomas (6-1, 185 in December but now 6-2, 214), Pat Coogan (6-4, 290 in December and now up to 6-5, 310) and Jason Onye (6-5, 245 to 6-5, 286). Hopefully we’ll see some additional updates after a couple more months of Matt Balis.

Thanks for sharing. Those are some big ass freshmen. Alt and Coogan are near playing weight right now, I'm sure some of it can be remodeled but still, that's impressive. I wonder how Estime looks athletically with that much weight? That is a battering ram.

+1 for the udpate. Wow, Onye is 6'5 286, that's a big boy. Interested to see what he looks like moving around at that size. With Onye that big and Devin A transferring, the edges of the defense are opening up for Gobaira and Agu.

Trying not to get too excited, but I feel like we’ve now got a roster filled with dudes upon dudes.

They're getting taller? Is that legit (like they're actually still growing, which is possible for an 18 year old) or is it funny business?

Scottie Pippen grew like 5 inches between his freshmen and sophomore year in college.

I don't think it is out of the ordinary for an 18 year old to still be growing.

Sounds like Chad Bowden’s offensive counterpart

Wow, this is a great development for offensive recruiting! So happy to see that ND is putting more resources into this area, I expect to see this move resulting in some impressive wins on the trail.

If he can play anywhere close to the impact it seems Chad Bowden is playing, this could pay huge dividends.

BK is OFFICIALLY not fucking around anymore.

First you pull a power play on LSU to secure the DC they wanted, then you steal the dude that had UC leading the Group of Five in recruiting, and now you’re poaching recruiters from Tennessee, which is like the one thing that program is good at.

I love it.
